Marlboro resident, a teacher in Keansburg, is charged with kiddie porn distribution

Marc S. Marinoff, 30, of Pear Drive in Marlboro and a teacher at the Bolger Middle School in Keansburg, was arrested on child pornography charges on Thursday, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

Detectives of the Prosecutor’s Computer Crimes Unit conducted a search of Marinoff’s home and various personal electronic devices were seized. An initial preview forensic examination revealed that Marinoff possessed and distributed videos of child pornography via a peer-to-peer file-sharing program – an online connection of computers allowing the sharing of files directly between the individual users.

Marinoff was charged with one count each of second degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Distribution of Child Pornography) and third degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Possession of Child Pornography).  The charges carry penalties of up to 15 years in state prison upon conviction and lifetime parole supervision under Megan’s Law.

Hornik blames bias incidents on post-election enviroment

Marlboro Mayor Jonathan Hornik says that two alleged bias incidents in his Township are a product of a post-election environment that allows people “with hate in their heart” to express that hatred in ways that are not appropriate.

Hornik said that since Election Day, a sidewalk on Ryan Road has been vandalized with a swastika and that a customer of the Costco on Texas Road was questioned by another customer about his religion.  “Are you a muslim?” the man was asked twice in a firm manner, according to a facebook post that the mayor referenced.

Both incidents are being investigate by the Marlboro Police Department.

In a letter to the Marlboro Community posted on facebook, Hornik celebrated the religious and ethic diversity of Marlboro and expressed his sadness and disappointment in recent incidents demonstrating “hate based on this same diversity.”

Marlboro Cop Accused Of Beating Colts Neck Women, Breaking Her Face

A Marlboro Police Officer is accused of punching a Colts Neck woman in the face, breaking her orbital and then falsely arresting and imprisoning the woman, according to a federal lawsuit filed in Trenton last week.

Officers Donna Gonzalez and Joseph Meglio forced themselves into the Colts Neck home of Marlene Mazur on January 24, 2016 in response to a dispatch call reporting an argument between a man and a women, according the the suit filed by Freehold attorney Thomas Mallon on behalf of Mazur.  The complaint says that Mazur’s husband had gotten her car stuck in the snow and that by the time the Marlboro officers arrived at the Boundary Road home, the husband and their son had dug out the car and parked it in the garage.

Gonzalez and Meglio entered the home and demanded to speak to the husband. Gonzalez pushed Mazur against a wall and gestured as if she was going to punch her while Meglio followed the son upstairs and entered a room where the son’s children were staying.

Sheriff’s Office takes their trucks on the road for kids

Touch a Truck 1 (800x603)The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office is increasing public safety awareness by showcasing their trucks and other equipment in a traveling demonstration.

On Wednesday, Sheriff Shaun Golden’s Office, in conjunction with the Jewish Federation in the Heart of New Jersey, participated in the Touch a Truck Program.  Fire Trucks, Public Works Trucks, Police Trucks and the Sheriff’s Mobile Command Unit visited Jewish communities in Manalapan, Marlboro and Aberdeen to give children the opportunity to learn about the equipment and how it is used for public safety.

Selika Josiah Gore Joins Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

Selika Josiah Gore of Marlboro, NJ has been appointed the Director of Field Programs at the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.  

FMCSA is the federal agency that regulates heavy duty vehicles. Its mission is to reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities involving large trucks and buses.

Gore for the last five years was the Deputy Administrator of Operations at the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission where she was responsible for customer service at all 39 MVC branch offices, the vehicle inspection and emissions program, business and motor vehicle dealer licensing, state bus inspections, capital planning.  At MVC she oversaw a staff of 1800 and managed an annual budget of $330 million.

Year in review: October 2015

Stacey Weathers46, of Tinton Falls, was killed on Saturday afternoon, October 3 when a tree fell onto her Mustang Convertible while she was driving southbound on Rt 34 in Colts Neck.  Weathers was the executive director of the New Jersey chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, where she helped raise $7 million to support patients and fund cancer research.

Matthew Kleinstein20, of Marlboro Township pleaded guilty to Cyber Harrassment and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. Kleinstein admitted to “sexting” photos of his genitals via text message and SnapChat to four females, ages 11-13, while he was a camp counselor for the Marlboro Recreation Department during the summer of 2014.  Kleinstein was sentenced to PTI for a minimum of one year.  His criminal record will be expunged if he sucessfully complete’s the program.

Year in review: August 2015

Dylan Gowan, a 19 year old Highlands man, spent the the night of August 11 and early morning hours of August 12 on a buoy 4 miles off the coast of Sandy Hook after the wave runner he was riding from Brooklyn failed and while the U.S. Coast Guard and the NYPD Marine Unit searched New York Harbor for him via helicopter and boat.
