Bryan Cordero-Castro, the 20 year old Long Branch resident charged in the stabbing death of a 16 year old Long Branch girl, is a native of Guatemala who is in the United States illegally. MMM has previously reported that Cordero-Castro is a U.S. citizen.
Charles Webster, spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor called to correct the inaccurate information on Cordero-Castro’s immigration status and apologized for the error.
Webster said that the immigration status of the 16 year old victim is unknown.
Long Branch police responded to an 10:42 p.m. call reporting the stabbing at 284 Van Pelt Place, Long Branch. The juvenile victim was taken to Monmouth Medical Center where she died at 11:25 p.m.

Bryan Cordero-Castro, of 4th Avenue in Long Branch, was charged with first degree Murder, third degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and third degree Attempted Escape last night for the stabbing death of a 16 year old Long Branch girl, according to an announcement by Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

Jennifer A. Pizzuto, 40, of Long Branch was found dead in a second floor bedroom at 140 Rockwell Ave. on Sunday night after Long Branch police responded to a 10:38 p.m. call reporting the discovery of the unresponsive female.
Investigators of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Long Branch Police Department arrested Christopher “Chato” Aparicio-Reyes, 21, and charge him with first degree murder for Pizzuto’s death. The victim’s body was discovered in Apraicio-Reyes’s apartment.
The manner of death was not disclosed in Acting Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni’s announcement.

Cousin of elder victim is charged

Brian R. Foster, a registered sex offender, was convicted of aggravated assault in 1996
Brian Farmer, 58, of John St in Long Branch has been charged with the strangulation murders of his cousin, Joan Colbert and her 10 year old foster daughter Veronica Roach. Farmer also faces child pornography charges in connection with the 10 year old girl, according to a statement by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
The Prosecutor’s office has confirmed that the defendant is the the same Brain R. Farmer, 58 of Long Branch, who is a registered sex offender convicted of aggravated assault in 1996.
A joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and Long Branch Police Department was launched after Colbert and Roach were found in their first floor apartment at 61 Lippincott Ave. on August 1, 2014. Long Branch police responded to the home around 5:22 p.m. following a report of suspicious circumstances at the address.
A 13-day investigation revealed Farmer was at the home on July 30, where he was discovered by Colbert taking pornographic photographs of the 10-year-old girl. A confrontation ensued ending with Farmer killing Colbert and the girl. Farmer then fled the scene of his crimes.
