Murphy Authorizes Towns And Counties To Restrict Short Term Rentals

Murphy: Jersey Girls still do not pump gas!

Governor Phil Murphy tweeted this afternoon that New Jersey currently has no plans to allow self-service gas stations.

“Please DO NOT pump your own gas,” the governor said.

NJ Gun Shops are now essential and open by appointment

Gun shops can now open in New Jersey, as an essential service, during the COVID-19 shutdown, Governor Phil Murphy reluctantly announced today.

According to NJ.com, Murphy reversed himself after the U.S. Department of Homeland Security deemed firearms dealers as essential services in a memo released over the weekend.

Murphy closes child care centers, except for essential workers’ kids

Governor Phil Murphy issued an Executive Order today which requires all New Jersey child care centers to certify that they are serving only the families of essential workers or close.

The certification is due on Friday, March 27. Centers that do not certify that can and will solely care for the children of essential workers must close by Wednesday, April 1.

As COVID-19 Heats Up, Governor Puts $1B in Planned Spending in Deep Freeze

Social-distancing measures have sent consumer spending into a tailspin, a sharp downturn felt all across the state economy that’s reducing revenues in all sectors

Gov. Phil Murphy’s administration has put nearly $1 billion in planned spending in reserve in response to ongoing concerns that the coronavirus outbreak could take a huge chunk of revenue out of the state budget.

Among the fiscal year 2020 appropriations that have been sidelined by the administration’s spending freeze is $142 million that was supposed to cover the next installment of the state’s popular Homestead property-tax relief benefits, which was due to be paid out to thousands of New Jersey residents to help offset their sky-high property-tax bills in May.

Governor Murphy Announces Statewide Stay at Home Order, Closure of All Non-Essential Retail Businesses

Order Also Prohibits All Social Gatherings, Mandates Work From Home Arrangements for Employees When Possible, and Invalidates Any Conflicting Local and County Regulations

Newark- To mitigate the impact of COVID-19 and protect the capacity of New Jersey’s health care system for the state’s most vulnerable, Governor Phil Murphy today signed Executive Order No. 107, directing all residents to stay at home until further notice. The order provides for certain exceptions, such as obtaining essential goods or services, seeking medical attention, visiting family or close friends, reporting to work, or engaging in outdoor activities.
