WASHINGTON — Donald Trump is heading to the border, but a patrol agents union won’t meet with him there. The executive board of the National Border Patrol Council Local 2455 was scheduled to meet with the 2016 presidential candidate Thursday afternoon in Laredo, Texas, but announced Thursday morning they would not participate in any events with… Read the rest of this entry »
Donald Trump responded to South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, a fellow candidate for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination, calling him a jack ass by reading the Senator’s cell phone number on national TV.
Graham responded today by getting together with IJReview and recording a video of himself destroying his flip phone by lighting it on fire, putting it in a blender, hitting it with a golf driver, slicing it with a samurai sword and dropping it off a roof.
It was way past time for Graham to get rid of that flip phone anyway. Now his challenge will be to learn how to use the email functions of his new smartphone better than Hillary Clinton uses hers.
TRENTON — Donald Trump, the outspoken billionaire who caused many critics to scoff when he announced last month he was running for president, has quickly become a focal point in the crowded race for the 2016 Republican nomination. His controversial comments have flooded media coverage. His fellow candidates constantly field questions about him. And this week,… Read the rest of this entry »
When Leo Cervantes is confronted by a difficult circumstance, he looks for the opportunity it presents.
When the waters of Superstorm Sandy receded from Highlands, Cervantes and his staff at Chilango’s recovered the non-spoiled inventory from their destroyed Bay Avenue restaurant and invited the entire town to a free dinner that they prepared and served at Henry Hudson Regional High School which was serving as a shelter for hundreds of residents displaced by the storm.
When Donald Trump disparaged Mexicans during his presidential candidacy announcement last week, Leo, who immigrated from Neza, a tough town outside of Mexico City in 1989 and became a naturalized United States citizen in 2008, shook off the insult and created an opportunity.
Sunday, July 5th is Cinco de Donald at Leo’s two Monmouth County Mexican restaurants, Chilango’s in Highlands and the newly opened LaPlaya in Keansburg.
Jon Huntsman increased his name recognition 8000% by turning down the invitation to attend the Newmax ION TV presidential debate to be moderated by Donald Trump.
Huntsman, the former Utah governor and President Obama’s former ambassador to China, is now best known for saying he “won’t kiss his ring or any part of his anatomy,” about Trump while explaining why he won’t attend the debate.
Texas congressman Ron Paul joined Huntsman in turning down The Donald’s invitation, saying through a spokesman that a debate hosted by a reality TV star is beneath the dignity of the presidency.
Trump called Huntsman and Paul joke candidates.
All of the remaining GOP candidates for president have accepted the invitation, even though Trump has not ruled out running for president as an Independent himself. Trump said he’s leaning toward endorsing a GOP candidate and that he might do so shortly after the debate.
The Trump debate will take place in Des Moines Iowa on December 27, one week before the Iowa caucus and two weeks before the New Hampshire primary.
Declaring that no candidates in the current field of Republicans can beat President Obama in 2012, this morning Donald Trump told Fox and Friends that he wouldn’t rule out reentering the race for the GOP nomination for president.
Personally, I think Trump left the race too soon and that his presence in the campaign was positive.
Trump’s unique position in American culture as an accomplished business leader and an entertainment celebrity gives him a voice and a platform from which to criticise the President that no one else can match. Unlike other candidates who could be politically damaged by counter attacks by the Obama campaign and the main stream media, Trump gets stronger and his stature elevated by the counter attacks. He really is biggest threat currently to Obama’s reelection.
By leaving the door open to enter the race late, Trump has taken back the platform he gave up when he said he wasn’t going to run. I hope he keeps using it to weaken the President politically.
The Donald announced that he won’t be a candidate for President and that he will continue as the star and co-producer of Celebrity Apprentice raising “lots and lots of money for charity.”
He then said he would have won the Oval Office had he run.
With Trump and Mike Huckabee both out, the race for the 2012 GOP nomination will be a lot less entertaining. Time will tell if that is good or bad. Entertaining gets people to pay attention.
I don’t believe Trump was ever serious about seeking the nomination. Yet I liked the role he was playing. He, more than anyone was able to lay a glove on Obama. He got under the candidate in chief’s skin. Taking politically incorrect positions actually helped Trump’s agenda. He created room for “real” candidates to take on the President.
If he had his druthers I think Trump would have played the gadfly through the summer. But NBC needed to let their affiliates know if Celebrity Apprentice was going to be back on the air in the fall. The Donald made the business decision he was always going to make.
Hopefully Trump will continue to speak out. He can do the country a service positioning himself as a conservative counter punch to Michael Moore and his ilk.
President Barack Obama released copies of his “long form” birth certificate to the media this morning. In his remarks to the press the President said the was “amused” over the last two years that questions over the country of his birth persisted. He said that he was putting the issue to rest now because over the last two weeks while he as dealing with the fundamental differences between the House Republicans budget and his own, that the issue of his birth was dominating the news cycles.
In an apparent swipe at Donald Trump, the real estate mogul, TV star and potential candidate for the GOP nomination for President, Obama said the country can not afford to be distracted by “side shows and carnival barkers.”
Donald Trump, speaking in New Hampshire, said that he was honored and proud of himself for his role in “hopefully” putting the issue of Obama’s eligibility to serve as President to rest. Trump said Obama should have put the issue to rest “a long time ago.” He said he hopes the certificate is authentic and that he country can move on to other issues.
