Gopal was on his honeymoon, a trade mission to India with the Murphys, when that story broke. But the honeymoon is over now that Nelson has been exposed and Brown has remained silent.

Monmouth County Democrat Chairman David Brown responded to the news that indicted U.S. Senator Bob Menendez will face a second trial on federal corruption charges by endorsing the senator for reelection in November, according to a report at PoliticsDW.
“Whether it is fighting for progressive values or standing up to Donald Trump’s disastrous and economic and environmental policies, Senator Bob Menendez has had our side,” said David Brown, the Monmouth County Democratic Chairman.
Monmouth County Democrats have elected David Brown of Long Branch to complete the term of former Chairman Vin Gopal who resigned earlier this month in order to run for State Senate in the 11th legislative district.
Brown, a member of the Monmouth County Tax Board, is employed by the Borough of Roselle (Union County) where he is the Borough Administrator/Acting DPW Supervisor and the Treasurer of the Public Schools, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He is Vice Chairman of the The Greater Long Branch Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Guild, 1st Vice President of the Greater Long Branch NAACP and Vice Chairman of the Second Baptist Church.
Lorna Phillipson of Spring Lake Heights, Congressman Chris Smith’s Democrat opponent in 2016, also sought the position.
