Colts Neck Teen Pleads Guilty To Attempted Murder and Carjacking

Brennan Doyle, 18, of Colts Neck pleaded guilty on Thursday in Monmouth County Superior Court to one count each of Attempted Murder and Carjacking, according to a statement by Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

In the early morning, 12:30 a.m., of Sunday July 8, 2013, Doyle, then 16, forced himself into the Bray Street home of a then 41 year old woman.  He stabbed her repeatedly, took her car keys and fled the scene with her vehicle.  The car was found later that day at the Strathmore Shopping Plaza in Aberdeen.

The victim was treated at an area hospital and discharged several days after the attack.

Doyle admitted to Judge Francis J. Vernoia today that he repeatedly stabbed the victim and fled the scene with her car.  As a result of the plea agreement, Doyle faces a sentence of between 14 and 15 years in State Prison subject the the No Early Release Act which requires that at least 85% of the sentence be served before he can be released on parole. He is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Vernoia on October 29.

Ten Day Detour For Building Traffic Circle in Colts Neck

The intersection of Crine Road (County Road 4) Dutch Lane (County Road 46) and Heulitt Road in Colts Neck will be closed from April 22 through May 2 for the installation of a roundabout.

Motorist heading east should follow Vanderburg Road to Boundary Road to Cedar Drive to Heyers Mill Road to Flock Road to State Hwy. 34 to Conover Road. Motorists travelling west should use the reverse route. A detour route has been posted.

Colts Neck Man, 22, Pleads Guilty to Federal Kiddie Porn Charges

gavelChad Weber, 22, of Colts Neck pleaded guilty to one federal count of possession child pornography charges today before U.S. District Court Judge Anne E. Thompson in Trenton.

Weber admitted possessing sexually explicit images of a 12-year old Pennsylvania girl with whom he had an online relationship in 2013, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.

The young man was released on unsecured bail of $100,000 and subject to home confinement with electronic monitoring when he surrendered to federal authorities last June.  He remains free on unsecured bail until his sentencing which is scheduled for June 22, 2015.  The electronic monitoring device was removed from Weber today, according to a spokesman for Fishman.

Colts Neck Teen Indicted in 2013 stabbing and carjacking

Brennan Doyle, 17 of Colts Neck, was indicted by a Monmouth County Grand Jury on 6 charges related to a July 2013 stabbing and carjacking in the Township.

Doyle will be tried as an adult on charges of first degree Carjacking; first degree Attempted Murder; third degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; fourth degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; third degree Hindering Apprehension of Oneself; and fourth degree Obstructing the Administration of Law according to a statement by Acting Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni.  His name was not previously released due to the juvenile confidentiality statute.

Doyle was released after posting $760,000 bail with no 10 percent option, as set by Monmouth County Superior Court Judge James J. McGann, J.S.C.  Judge McGann also ordered Doyle to have no victim contact and no return to scene on all charges.
