Asbury Park Mayor John Moor is not a tuxedo guy. He didn’t even wear one to his daughter’s wedding. Since taking office, many have suggested that Moor host a Mayor’s Ball to raise money for a worthy city cause. Rather than risk Dan Jacobson writing “Mayor Moor Has No Balls,” he’s having a rodeo to raise money for the city’s summer recreation program.
Moor told MoreMonmouthMusings that last summer 50 city children were turned away from the summer recreation program due to lack of funding. Moor found out about that too late to do something last year and vowed to do what ever it takes, except wearing a tuxedo, to make sure every Asbury Park child who wants to attend the summer recreation program can attend the summer recreation program.Art Gallagher | Filed under: Asbury Park, Monmouth County News | Tags: Asbury Park, Asbury Park Mayor John Moor, Asbury Park Summer Recreation Program, John Moor, Mayor's Ball, Monmouth County News | Comments Off on Asbury Park Mayor’s First Rodeo
Asbury Park, NJ- Mayor John Moor announced today that he is supporting Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon and Freeholder John P. Curley in the general election on November 3.
“John and Christine have both been great public officials and have served the citizens of Asbury Park with passion and integrity,” said Mayor Moor.
“Asbury Park has had legally contested elections in recent years. I witnessed Hanlon’s honest and level headed efforts first hand as she dealt with those controversies as a member of the Board of Elections. I have no doubt that Monmouth County elections, and all of the important functions of the Clerk’s Office will be conducted with fairness and integrity so long as Christine remains at the helm.”
“John Curley and all of the Monmouth County Freeholders have been very responsive to Asbury Park. This summer when we had a health concern at Sunset Lake, Curley himself showed up with Health Department personnel,” Moor continued, “That kind of dedication and attention is what Freeholder Curley is all about”
“Asbury Park has a great relationship with Monmouth County. Hanlon and Curly personify excellence in public service. They deserve to be elected on November 3.”Posted: October 20th, 2015 | Author: Art Gallagher | Filed under: Asbury Park, Christine Hanlon, John Curley, Monmouth County News | Tags: Asbury Park Mayor John Moor, Christine Giordano Hanlon, Christine Hanlon, Freeholder John Curley, John Curley, John Moor, Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon | 1 Comment »
