Measley: Pallone’s “Monkey Court” Rant Was A Fundraising Stunt

You probably saw the video of Congressman Frank Pallone ranting and raving like a lunatic at a House hearing this morning regarding the Affordable Care Act (a bill that he was the mastermind of) and the security of the private information of those enrolling.

I believe the whole incident was staged and this is why. Pallone recently had a failed bid for the Democratic primary regarding the open U.S. Senate seat here in New Jersey. For years Pallone has planned and dreamed of becoming a United States Senator During that time he built up a substantial warchest of about $4 million. When he announced his bid for United States Senate he transferred the majority of that money into his senatorial account.

Unfortunately for Pallone the battle was much more intense then he thought. After receiving a devastating blow from now US Sen. Cory Booker, Congressman Frank Pallone only has one fourth of his once mighty warchest left. Compared to his other challenger Congressman Rush Holt who walked away with a net gain.

Pallone Calls House ObamaCare Hearing A “Monkey Court”

An angry and animated Congressman Frank Pallone slammed his Republican colleagues on the House Energy and Commerce Committee this morning for holding a “Monkey Court” designed to discourage enrollment in ObamaCare.

Pallone, after a bobble head soliloquy, angrily refused to yield to “this Monkey Court.”  “Do what ever you want”, Pallone shouted, “I’M NOT YIEDLING!”

Booker will be sworn in on Halloween

Cory Booker will be sworn in as a U.S. Senator on Halloween, October 31, according to Associated Press reports.

New Jersey’s senior Senator will, by tradition, escort Booker into the Senate Chamber.  Vice President Joe Biden, the Constitutional President of the Senate, will swear Booker in.

Booker told the Wall Street Journal that reforming federal narcotics laws is on the top of his list for goals to accomplish in the final 15 months of the late Senator Frank Lautenberg’s term that he was elected to complete last week.  Booker said he plans to reach across the aisle and work with Kentucky Senator Rand Paul to eliminate mandatory minimum sentencing laws for non-violent drug offenders.

Political Prisoner: Sharpe Twists and Turns

Sharpe James never lacked for self-confidence. Or strong  opinions. In the first chapter of his new memoir, the former Newark mayor likens  himself to his “role models;” biblical and historical political prisoners Jesus,  John the Baptist, the Apostles James and Peter, Gandhi, Mandela and Dr. Martin  Luther King, Jr.

Governor Christopher Christie, who as U.S. Attorney prosecuted James in 2008  on five counts of fraud related to the sale of Newark owned property, is likened  to Lucifer and “a slovenly intoxicated King Herod” who was given James’s  figurative “head on a platter” by former friends and associates who lied under  oath in order to save their own necks from prosecution.

James refers to Christie and former President George W. Bush as “head  hunters.”

Political Prisoner reads like two books. In between the opening  chapter that sets up the context of his persecution and the closing chapters  recollecting his prosecution and imprisonment, James tells the compelling story  of his remarkable life lived during a tumultuous American century.

Gopal: When Dems Take Over Monmouth County, Republicans Will Never Win Statewide In New Jersey

There’s little hope for Republicans anyway if they don’t win a legislative chamber this year.

Vin Gopal’s ambitions are bigger than winning Democratic control of Monmouth’s county and municipal governments.  He wants to make sure New Jersey never again has another Republican governor or U.S. senator.

“Once we turn Monmouth County blue, a Republican will never win statewide,”  Gopal said last night at the annual Monmouth County Democrats Annual Chairman’s Ball, according to a report on PolitickerNJ.

State Senate President Steve Sweeney was on hand to boost Gopal’s plan of taking over Monmouth County from the bottom up.

“Build the party, bring as many people as you can to strengthen this  organization, … and then once you create it you can win, there’s no reason why not,” said Senate President Steve Sweeney, who was invited to speak at the  Monmouth County Democrats Annual Chairman Ball.

“It’s the effort that you put in and you’ve got to build from the foundation  up,” he said, explaining first it’s the councils and then the freeholder  boards.

“No Republican can win statewide if we can win this county,” Sweeney said.  “It’s just a matter of attitude, energy and focus, and that’s what I’m seeing  out of this county.”

Unless New Jersey Republicans win at least one chamber of the legislature on November 5, it is unlikely that a post Chris Christie Republican will be elected statewide for the foreseeable future anyway or that Republicans will ever control the legislature again.

If Republicans can’t pick up seats this year when they have a hugely popular governor cruising to a 30 point win on the top of the ticket, when will they?  Not until there is another Jim Florio or Jon Corzine in Drumthwacket, or a Democratic version of Richard Nixon or George W. Bush in the White House, if even then.

Christie is going to be reelected by huge margins.

Christie Drops Appeal To Gay Marriage Decision

Same Sex Nuptials Are Now Certain To Remain Legal in New Jersey

Given the State Supreme Court’s signal that the Christie administration would not prevail in its appeal of Superior Court Judge Mary Jacobson’s decision compelling the State to grant same sex couples the same marriage rights as heterosexual couples, Governor Chris Christie withdrew his appeal today, the first day that gay couples can wed in New Jersey under Jacobson’s order and the Supreme Court’s refusal to stay that order.

“Although the governor strongly disagrees with the court substituting its judgment for the constitutional process of the elected branches or a vote of the people, the court has now spoken clearly as to their view of the New Jersey constitution and, therefore, same-sex marriage is the law,” said Colin Reed, a spokesman for Christie. “The governor will do his constitutional duty and ensure his administration enforces the law as dictated by the New Jersey Supreme Court.”

State Senator Mike Doherty issued a statement condemning Christie for caving to the activist judiciary.
