Will NJ Pull Plug on Promoting Zero-Emission Vehicles? (via
NJSpotlight)
The Christie administration has already pulled New Jersey out of a regional initiative to curb greenhouse gas emissions from power plants. Does that mean the state’s efforts to encourage use of zero- emission vehicles — as proposed under the California…

By Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon
Yesterday Senator Rand Paul attacked NJ Governor Christie suggesting that the Governor’s landslide victory last week was the result of the federal aid package sent to NJ following superstorm Sandy.
I occupy the unique combination of positions of Republican Assembly Budget Officer, long term fiscal conservative who has warned of New Jersey’s irresponsible spending polices for years, long-term advocate for reforms like pension benefit and collective bargaining reforms – and my District (13) covers the area of the bayshore hardest hit by the storm.
Unlike Senator Paul, I can state unequivocally – and based on first hand experience – that Governor Christie’s popularity wasn’t purchased with federal aid. It was earned by tireless, extraordinary leadership on multiple crisis fronts from the moment Christie won election in 2009. He inherited a state on the verge of insolvency, requiring reform solutions – pension and benefit, arbitration, property tax, budgetary – that no governor in the history of the state ever dreamed of tackling.

Bianca Levin, Senator Cory Booker’s girlfriend, per the NYPost. facebook photo
Really. And it’s news! The New York Post broke the story and now everyone is running it.
Bianca Levin, a 36 year old Beverly Hills entertainment lawyer has been dating New Jersey’s junior U.S. Senator since she co-hosted a fundraiser for his campaign last June. Levin represents Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Her firm represents Clint “The Chair” Eastwood.
Lynsie Lee, the Oregon stripper and Chasing NJ sports reporter, who was linked to Booker via private twitter messages, doesn’t care.

Really. And it is news! The Star Ledger, Huffington Post and The Philly Inky are reporting it.
The Governor cancelled a breakfast appearance before the Committee of Seventy, a Philadelphia good government group. He was to speak to about 600 people and take questions, but cancelled last night, because he’s “just not feeling well at all,” according Seventy’s press release.
The Ledger and Inky quoted Christie’s spokesperson, Colin Reed as stating, “fighting off a cold and has had to cut back his morning schedule tomorrow.”
So far, Christie is still scheduled to appear at Newark Liberty Airport at 11:30 this morning for an airline service announcement.

Would you risk your life for strangers? My mother Dalisay Dwinells (everyone calls her Lee) has faced death numerous times over the last several years, while serving impoverished children at orphanages in some of the world’s most dangerous places. When she volunteered at Rancho 3M in Guadalupe, Mexico, her and her husband faced the threat of abduction by drug cartels that regularly kidnapped, tortured and murdered American citizens for profit.
In the last few years my mother has established an orphanage in both Cebu City and Bohol, Philippines, where she recently survived a 7.2 and 4.8-magnitude earthquake that taunted them with nearly a thousand aftershocks and tremors. The quakes killed 200 and reduced the stone church in the village where she lives to rubble, leaving thousands homeless, without food and clean drinking water. She and the 27 orphans that she cares for had to sleep outside, because of the real possibility that their home could collapse on them.
Despite the dangers of her work, nothing could have prepared my mother for the 145 mph winds and 175 mph gusts of Typhoon Haiyan, regarded as one of the most powerful storms ever to make landfall.
The day before the Typhoon hit, my mother’s vehicle filled with children, was nearly tossed of a cliff when flash floods caused landslides on many of the islands. From my mother’s Facebook page:
