Sex Offender Attempts To Revive Brandt’s Little Silver Campaign
A registered sex offender and his spouse recorded video of Little Silver Republican Chairman Stuart Van Winkle asking them if they had granted Rick Brandt permission to put campaign signs at their business. They then spun the encounter as illegal harassment and posted the video on YouTube. Brandt linked to the video in a lengthy press release on Thursday in which he depicts himself as a victim of “the dark underbelly” of Little Silver politics.
RedBankGreen depicted Will and Ingrid Garcia as “mom and pop” owners of a detail shop located at the overpriced Shell gas station across the street from the Little Silver train station. A brief MMM investigation revealed that Will Garcia is a registered Tier 2 sex offender listed in both the New Jersey and Florida law enforcement databases. He was convicted of sexual contact with two juvenile females.

Arnone Report: Freeholder Director honors fallen heroes and their families
By Monmouth County Freeholder Director Tom Arnone
In observance of this past Memorial Day, we should take the time to remember those who lost their lives while bravely serving our country. It is because of these heroic men and women that we can continue to enjoy the freedoms they so bravely fought to defend.
Let it also not be lost on us the sacrifices made by the families of these heroes, including Gold Star Mothers. Through their grief and heartbreak, these women have been pillars of strength in their communities, keeping alive the legacies of their loved ones. I would also like to thank those who have served and are currently serving our country.
I encourage all parents and guardians to talk to their children about the importance of honoring and remembering those who have fought for our country. It is important to teach our children to recognize and remember the sacrifices made by those who serve our country throughout the entire year, not just during certain occasions and holidays.

With word leaking out that Rick Brandt has been banned from Markham Place School, even though he wasn’t when MMM screwed up and inferred that he was earlier this week, the 30 year old printing and packaging salesmen is coming to grips with the fact that he is not going to win the Republican nomination for Little Silver Mayor. MMM has learned that Brandt is now considering becoming the 24th person to enter the race for 2020 Democrat nomination for President of the United States.
When informed that the U.S. Constitution requires that Presidents be 35 years of age, Brandt smiled, put two thumbs up and filed his paperwork anyway.

Rick ‘The Pretender’ Brandt, the 30 year old challenger to Little Silver Mayor Bob Neff in the Republican primary on June 4 took posed for photos with 8 grade students of Markham Place School today, a violation of the school’s social media policy ( and of common sense and decency), and posted with photos on his campaign facebook page.
Brandt’s action caused a stir among parents in Little Silver facebook groups. The school was alerted of Brandt’s actions and immediately demanded that he remove the photos. MMM obtained screenshots of the offense and edited the photos to protect the identity of the children and to maximize the ridicule of Brandt. Read the rest of this entry »

By Don Galante, Little Silver Councilman
Can we take a minute to contemplate what’s been unfolding in our community with this upcoming Primary election and consider how it highlights the very definition of community service? We see a veteran Mayor who has donated 12 years of his time researching topics so he can make responsible, educated decisions to benefit his community and never looking for any credit for doing so. We see a leader who has been endorsed by every other sitting person on the Governing Body, all the employees of the Borough, a number of state and County elected Officials, members of both political parties, a number of volunteer organizations in our town and so many other informed members of our community. I personally have been fortunate to serve on Town Council, putting me in a position to sit next to Bob for this entire journey and watch his efforts to improve facilities, services and the quality of life in our incredible community. Little Silver Mayor Bob Neff contacted MMM this morning, in response to our story about the Meet the Candidates event on May 28, to say he does not believe that Rick Brandt, his opponent in the June 4 Republican primary, is avoiding the forum sponsored by the Little Silver GOP because he is not permitted at the venue.
“I don’t believe that Rick’s access to Markham Place School has ever been restricted in any way, so that’s not standing in the way of a debate,” Neff said in text message.

Seven term Atlantic Highlands Councilman F. Lou Fligor told MMM that he has not ruled out running for mayor of the borough as an Independent candidate this year. He has until June 4 to file nominating petitions.
First elected to the council in 1995 as a Republican, Fligor won his seventh term running as an Independent in 2016 with the support of a bi-partisan coalition led by former Mayor Fred Rast and local Democrat Party Chair Regina Hawley Keelen.
