86 year old man charged with sexually assaulting a 13 year old boy

Albert DeCresci, 86, a resident of the Seabrook retirement community in Tinton Falls and formerly of Rumson, was charged with Second Degree Sexual Assault and Third Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child after being caught in the act of sexually assaulting a 13 year old boy, according to a statement by Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

DeCresci was arrested in a Seabrook dining room by the Tinton Falls Police Department on June 5, 2015.  He is in custody of the Monmouth County Correctional Institution where he is being held on $250,000 bail with no 10% option as set by Judge Honora O’Brien Kilgallen, J.S.C. O’Brien Kilgallen ordered that DeCresci have no contact with the alleged victim in the event that he makes bail.

Investigators are urging any additional victims to come forward by contacting Detective Delisa Brazile, of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-620-4045, or Detective Robert Wilson, of the Tinton Falls Police Department at 732-542-3400 ext. 443.

Belmar is Closed—Seafood Festival Fills The Town To Capacity

UPDATE:  Traffic from Route 35 into Belmar was reopened at 7 p.m., according to a tweet by Mayor Matt Doherty.

Belmar Mayor Matt Dorherty announced via twitter that the iconic Jersey Shore Borough that is hosting the New Jersey Seafood Festival this weekend, is filled to capacity.

As of 3 p.m. all traffic into the borough from Route 35 is being diverted.

The Oceanic Bridge Is Open

Right on schedule, the Oceanic Bridge opened to traffic between Rumson and Middletown this morning.

Working around the clock, in 12-hour shifts, Harms Construction Co. Inc. of Howell has performed repair and restoration work on all four of the bridge’s main bearings that are used to support the bascule and flanking spans on the bridge approaches.

The bridge was closed on May 26 due to the needed repairs that were discovered during an overhaul that was to have been completed in April.  The construction of the emergency repairs was scheduled to allow the bridge to open during the last two weekends.

“We appreciate the patience of the local residents, business owners and visitors while we conducted this necessary repair,” said Freeholder Tom Arnone who “The Oceanic Bridge is an important connector in the Two River area. We need to keep the bridge open and operational as we plan for its eventual replacement.”

“Snooki’s Law” Advances In NJ State Senate

A bill inspired by “Snooki’s” 2011 appearance at Rutgers that paid the Realty TV star $32,000 to advise students to “study hard but party harder” was advanced through the Senate Education Committee today.

Sponsored by Sen. Joe Kyrillos, S-703 decreases costs and increases transparency at higher education institutions by requiring colleges to publish an online breakdown of student fees and allow students to decline certain expenses.

“The growing cost of pursuing higher education is staggering, with many New Jersey students struggling to foot the bill and finish their degrees,” said Senator Kyrillos (R-Monmouth). “College students and their families should know exactly what they’re paying for, before their money is taken. By offering them the chance to opt-out, we are giving students the opportunity to create and pay for the college experience they want, instead of forcing them to pay for frivolous events that do not contribute to the quality education that they deserve.”

S-703 requires all higher education institutions to publish a full breakdown of student fees on the web. The fees must be sorted into categories, including “student managed entertainment” and “capitol improvement.” The bill would allow students to affirmatively opt-out of student-managed entertainment fees.

Sadie Says: Don’t be a poopie head. Pick up your trash and don’t litter on the beach!

She is only 7 years old from Manville, NJ, and already knows how to get things done. On June 7, Sadie Fleming was at Monmouth County’s Union Beach that Sunday morning with her family.

The Union Beach Borough is part of the Bayshore Regional Strategic Plan, recently undergoing an extensive restoration of its beach front due to the effects of hurricane Sandy. The beach offers a view of the New York City skyline and the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge.

Walking along the beach with her mom, dad, and her sister, Sadie couldn’t help but notice how dirty it was. Sadie was visibly upset that adults weren’t being responsible with their trash and not throwing their litter in the garbage. She was concerned that all that trash would wind up in the ocean, potentially killing the fish and wildlife.

Rible Defends Police Response To Summer Jam Riot

Assemblyman Dave Rible, R-Monmouth and Ocean, stood up for the New Jersey State Police’s response to rioting gate crashers at Sunday night’s Summer Jam at MetLife Stadium.

Responding to ACLU of NJ Executive Director Udi Ofer’s call for the Attorney General to investigate the appropriate use of force at the event, Rible issued the following statement:

“It is irresponsible to call for an investigation into law enforcement officers who were simply doing the job they were asked to do, which was to break up an already ongoing riot and protect innocent bystanders,” Assemblyman Rible said. “We need to stop continuously placing the blame on our law enforcement and instead come together to show our support for those who were sworn in to protect and serve the public.”

Assemblyman Rible continued, “While there are certainly bad characters in every profession, we must not denigrate all of our law enforcement officers. In our increasingly dangerous world, we should not be undermining our officers’ ability to properly protect us and themselves. Instead, we need to target the bad actors who created this dangerous situation in the first place.”
