Monmouth County’s Freeholders issued a statement on Friday begging residents to follow social distancing policies when the use County parks and golf courses this weekend.
“While we are very excited to see our County parks and golf courses reopen tomorrow morning, we are begging everyone to do the right thing and practice strict social distancing when you are at one of the parks or on a golf course. If an individual is not a member of your household, you should stay at least six feet away from them at all times.
In its first telephonic meeting of the coronavirus outbreak, the Asbury Park Board of Education put off voting on a 2020-21 school budget that would raise taxes 22%, even before hearing residents’ warnings that such a steep hike amid the economic hard times wrought by the virus would drive some of them out of town.

The Visting Nursing Service of Central Jersey Community Health Center is administering the recently approved saliva test, which was developed at Rutgers, at their Asbury Park location this week. The test will be available at their Freehold, Keyport and Red Bank locations next week.
