Gopal abstains on $10 billion borrowing bill – O’Scanlon sues to halt the borrowing

Senator Vin Gopal did not vote on the controversial bill passed and signed into law yesterday that allows Governor Phil Murphy and four Democrat legislators to borrow up to $9.9 billion without voter approval.

New Jersey’s Constitution requires voters to approve state government debt. New Jersey’s Courts, and therefore its Democrat legislators and Governors, treat the Constitution as book of aphorisms.

Full of Schmid: Congressional candidate lies about her fundraising results

Stephanie Schmid, the presumed Democrat nominee for Congress in New Jersey’s 4th District, reported to the Federal Election Commission that her campaign has $76,671.20 cash on hand as of June 30. The campaign raised $38, 775.95 and spent $14,101.97 between June 18 and June 30, according to the certified Form 3 which was received by the FEC at 11:18 p.m last night.

I hope everyone had a great weekend here in Monmouth County!

I would like to provide an update of different projects and initiatives taking place throughout Monmouth County. 

As you may be aware, a few weeks ago my fellow Freeholders and I announced that the County will allocate $10 million from the CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security) Act to supplement the Community Development Block Grant – Coronavirus (CDBG-CV).The funding will be utilized to provide grants of up to $10,000 to businesses with up to 50 employees.

Manalapan Man Missing

Found!Mr. Wiegers was located in Teaneck, Bergen County. He is being treated in a hospital for dehydration and a broken rib, according to an announcement by his family.

James Wiegers, 86, of Manalapan, was reported missing on Sunday.

Wiegers daughter-in-law, Dyanne, said in a facebook post that he was following his normal Sunday morning routine by driving to the Tuscany Deli on Gordons Corner Road in Manalapan and never arrived.

Investigation clears Asbury Park cops who arrested APP reporter during BLM protest

As police officers wrestled Gustavo Martinez Contreras to the ground while clearing out protesters in Asbury Park last month, newly released video shows he repeatedly tried to tell them “I’m a reporter” through his face mask.

Martinez Contreras, a reporter for the Asbury Park Press, was charged with failure to disperse — accusations that were later dropped.
