Each Spring, the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police
coordinates and hosts the New Jersey Law Enforcement Memorial Service,
the oldest state-wide memorial for fallen officers in the nation.
This emotional and moving ceremony will be held Tuesday, May 20th
beginning at 11:00 AM at the historic Great Auditorium located at
21 Pilgrim Pathway in Ocean Grove, New Jersey.
A tribute to those law enforcement officers who made the ultimate
sacrifice in the line of duty over the past year, as well as all of those heroes who have been lost over the years.
The Memorial brings together the entire New Jersey law enforcement community for a day of solemn remembrance.

Monmouth County Library, is pleased to present a panel featuring the authors of the recent book, New Jersey: A History of the Garden State.
Join some of New Jersey’s leading archaeologists, political, social, and economic historians as they provide new perspectives on how the
Garden State evolved. New Jersey: A History of the Garden State
presents a fresh, comprehensive overview of New Jersey’s history from the prehistoric era to the present.
Featured speakers include Maxine Lurie (professor emerita of history at Seton Hall University), Paul Israel (director of The Edison Papers, Rutgers University), Larry Greene (professor of history at Seton Hall University), and Brian Greenberg (the Jules Plangere Jr. Chair in American Social History at MonmouthUniversity).

The first permanent Jewish communities in Monmouth County were established by German-Jewish immigrants arriving in the mid-1800s.
By the end of the Civil War, sizeable numbers of these businessmen and their families were well established in and around Keyport, Red Bank, Long Branch and Freehold. Jewish hoteliers and other tradesmen catering to summer visitors were also a visible presence along the Atlantic coastline.

hosts their 27th annual event, which, for many residents of Atlantic Highlands, is an annual rite of Spring on Saturday, May 23rd, 2014
Fine dining, hors d’oeuvres and an open bar combined with a
charity auction with dozens of spectacular prizes are expected, as always, to attract large numbers of residents.Over the years, P.B.A Local #242 has contributed proceeds from the event to local organzations, including : The AH Historical Society, Henry Hudson Regional School and the Atlantic Highlands Elementary School.

The Greater Shore Concert Bandwill be performing it’s
SPRING PROGRAM tonight at 7:30 PM at the
Lutheran Church of the Reformation, 992 Broadway, West Long Branch
The Greater Shore Concert Band of Monmouth County, New Jersey is comprised of amateur musicians who meet, practice and perform
for the love of music. The band is comprised of approximately
70 musicians whose ages range from students in junior high school to retired individuals.
The band’s concerts consist of marches, symphonies, overtures and
popular music. The band performs a series of winter concerts and a spring concert.
The band is a non-profit and volunteer organization. Band members
are not paid for their services. The band is self-funding through concert ticket sales, program advertisements and donations.
This is a Free Will Offering Event, donations are gratefully accepted
If you miss this performance, the GSCB will be at Wall High School
on Friday, May 9th. This is their fundraising event and tickets are $10

Prevention First will hold a free training for owners, managers and employees of Monmouth County businesses that hold liquor licenses (restaurants, hotels, bars, nightclubs, etc.). Attendees will be taking a leading role in the effort to prevent alcohol misuse by attending this
training which will assist local servers and vendors in preventing illegal sales of alcohol to underage youth. Guests can expect to learn more about staying on top of the latest trends in false identification, developing innovative strategies to prevent selling alcohol to underage customers, understanding the legal and social consequences of serving underage
