Monmouth County has 2,352 COVID-19 cases, 58 deaths on April 5, 2020

Monmouth County has 2,351 positive COVID-19 cases, according to an announcement by Freeholder Director Tom Arnone and Deputy Director Sue Kiley.

The New Jersey Department of Health reports that 58 Monmouth County residents have succumbed to the virus.

These numbers indicate an increase of 608 cases and 15 deaths since Friday, April 3.

Rumson emulates Lakewood

UPDATE: John P. Maldjian, a 54 year old attorney, was the host of the party. He has been charged with reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, and two separate charges related to violating the emergency orders, as well as with two Rumson Borough ordinance violations.

A group of about 30 Rumson residents held a Lakewood style corona party at a Black Point Road home on Saturday evening, according to a facebook post by the Borough’s Police Department.

Autopsy: Long Branch Shooting Was A Suicide

The shooting death of June Huhn in Long Branch on Friday has been ruled a suicide by the Middlesex County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office following an autopsy, according to Charles Webster, spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

Monmouth County has 1743 positive cases of COVID-19 as of April 3, according to an announcement by Freeholder Director Tom Arnone and Deputy Director Sue Kiley.

The NJ Department of Health reports that there have been 43 deaths resulting from the virus in Monmouth County.

There are numerous published reports of ZoomBombing – unauthorized hackers joining a meeting and wrecking havoc with porn, racist rants and the like.

Zoom’s CEO, Eric S. Yuan, acknowledged the problem in an April 1 message to the site’s users.

Yuan explained that his platform, which was designed to be used by enterprise customers like large financial institutions with full IT support and was not designed with the foresight that “in a matter of weeks, every person in the world would suddenly be working, studying, and socializing from home.”

Zoom usage has grown from 10 million people in December to over 200 million in March, according to a NPR report.
