N.J. schools closed through at least May 15, Murphy says

New Jersey schools will be closed through at least May 15 because of the coronavirus pandemic, with the state’s 1.4 million students continuing to learn from home, Gov. Phil Murphy announced Thursday.

Murphy initially ordered all schools in the Garden State— public and private, including pre-K and college — to close March 18 for at least two weeks. He later extended that closure to April 17, saying he would not reopen schools until medical experts tell him it’s safe.

Former Monmouth County Freeholder Clem Sommers passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. He was 91 years old.

Clem is remembered for a lifetime of service.

4,133 positive COVID-19 cases, 167 deaths in Monmouth County as of April 15

There have been 4,133 positive tests for COVID-19 in Monmouth County, as of April 15, according to an announcement by Freeholder Director Tom Arnone and Deputy Director Sue Kiley. The NJ Department of Heath reports 167 deaths in the County, due to the virus.

This represents an increase of 130 cases (3.3%) and 22 deaths (15.2%) overnight.

Yankees great Goose Gossage prays bleeping liberals ‘go off the cliff’ for attacking President Trump in epic rant

Corna Gossage picked up on the second ring Tuesday afternoon when we called seeking a good story or two from her husband on the death of Yankees managing partner Hank Steinbrenner.

“Rick,” she called out once, twice, three times. “I can’t find him.”

Goose Gossage, aka Rich on most of his baseball cards and Rick to everyone in his hometown in Colorado Springs, Colo., answered on our third call.

Monmouth County has 138 news positive COVID-19 cases on April 14, bringing the total to 4,003, according to an announcement by Freeholder Director Tom Arnone and Deputy Director Sue Kiley. The NJ Department of Heath is reporting that 145 County residents have succumbed to the virus.

PNC COVID-19 testing site closed due to weather

The FEMA supported COVID-19 drive-through testing site at the PNC Arts Center, Garden State Parkway mile 116 in Holmdel has been closed today, Monday April 13, due to forecast high winds, according to NJ’s COVID-19 information hub.

The site is scheduled to open again on Weds, April 15 at 8 am.
