Dr. Saad A. Saad, 71 of Red Bank, was charged with second degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child and fourth degree Criminal Sexual Contact by a Monmouth County Grand Jury last week over an incident that occurred while he was examining a 17 year old female patient at Meridian Pediatric Associates in Eatontown on May 1, 2017.
Saad is the Pediatric Surgeon-in-Chief at the K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital, according to his practice’s website. He is an attending at five hospitals in Monmouth and Ocean Counties and is an assistant professor of surgery at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

The tragic death of 11 year old Abbiegal “Abbie” Smith last week, allegedly at the hands of her 18 year old Keansburg neighbor, Andreas Erazo, has resulted in an outpouring of generous support for Abbie’s family.
A total of $26,055, plus meal donations, has been raised by three social media campaigns since Friday, July 14, the day after Abbie’s remains were found near her home and Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni announced that her death was being investigated as a homicide.

Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said that Abbiegal “Abbie” Smith’s body was found near her Keansburg home at about 10:45 this morning and that her death is being investigated as a homicide.
Speaking outside the Hancock Apartments where Abbie lived, Gramiccioni did not announce the cause or manner of death.
Abbie, 11 years old, was last seen by a family member at home last night at about 8:45 and was reported missing around 10:45, the Prosecutor said.
Gramiccioni asked anyone with information in regard to Abbiegail’s death to contact Monmouth County Detective Wayne Raynor at 1-800-533-7443 or the Keansburg Police Department at 732-787-0600.

UPDATE: Abbie was found dead in the vicinity of her home this morning. Her death in being investigated as a homicide.
A Monmouth County law enforcement source confirmed that Abbie Smith, the 11 year old Keansburg girl who went missing last night, has been located. The source would not confirm that she is safe and sound. “All I can tell you is that she has been located and that we are talking to her family,” the source said.
Charles Webster, spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said that Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni will be meeting the the press at the Keansburg Police Department sometime after 12:30 this afternoon.

Robert “True” Britt, 45, of Asbury Park pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiracy to distribute heroin in Ocean and Monmouth Counties today. U.S. District Judge Peter G. Sheridan accepted the plea during a hearing in U.S. District Court in Trenton, according to an announcement by Acting U.S. Attorney William E. Fitzpatrick.
