Smith was a leader in emphasizing the ideal location of JB-MDL for the tankers. JB-MDL is the nation’s only tri-service joint installation and is home to over 80 mission partners including active duty, Reserve and Guard units. Read the rest of this entry »

Congressman Chris Smith: Gay marriage and adoption is settled law

Josh Welle is lying about Chris Smith–again

The Washington Blade, a website that claims to be America’s LGBT News Source, this morning posted a video, which they claimed was exclusive, which purports to represent Congressman Chris Smith telling students at Colts Neck High School that he thinks children would be better off in orphanages than they would be if adopted by a same-sex couple.

The Blade’s video is not exclusive nor does it represent what Congressman Smith said to the Colts Neck students that morning.

MMM attended the student assembly in Colts Neck on the morning of May 29 and recorded Smith’s 53 minute appearance.  The entire unedited recording, with only Smith’s photo added, is here:  Read the rest of this entry »

Hanlon makes it easier to opt-out of automatic Vote-By-Mail

Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon today posted a form on her website for voters to use if they want to opt-out of the automatic Vote-By-Mail law recently signed by Governor Phil Murphy.

The new law requires that any voter who voted by mail in 2016, the last presidential election, automatically be sent Vote-By-Mail ballots in all future elections unless they opt-out in writing.

Voters who do not opt-out in writing will not be able cast their vote in a voting machine.  They will be able to cast a provisional ballot if they show up at the polling location to vote and find that their name is not in the book.

The form, which we are posting below, should be printed out, signed and mailed or emailed by September 14…this Friday.

County Clerk Reminds Voters about the New Vote by Mail Law which will affect the November General Election

Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon

FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon is reminding voters that a new law signed by Governor Phil Murphy in August dramatically changed the Vote by Mail rules in New Jersey. These changes are effective immediately and will impact the November General Election.

The new law mandates that all voters who voted by mail in the 2016 General Election be sent a Mail-In Ballot for the 2018 General Election, even if they did not request one. If these voters do not want to receive a 2018 General Election Mail-In Ballot, they must notify the County Clerk in writing to opt out.

“All of these 2016 Mail-In Ballot voters have been sent a letter from the County Clerk’s Office advising of this change, so it is important that voters be on the lookout for this letter,” said Clerk Hanlon.
