Cullari Challenges Little to First Debate of Primary Season with No Response

Press release

Asbury Park, NJ – On Friday, May 25th and again on Saturday, May 26th, Ernesto Cullari, Republican Candidate for Congress, personally invited former Freeholder and Mayor Anna C. Little to a debate scheduled for May 31st at 7pm. This marks the first time that either campaign has directly contacted the other to seek approval on terms and format. The debate, as proposed by Cullari, will be held at a prominent local university with a moderator, who is a well respected journalist. Members of the press are encouraged to attend.

The invitation to the Little Team clearly lays out the format of the event being proposed. This is in stark contrast to an event, which was to be hosted last week by Democratic Tea Party Leader and Little endorsee, Mark Falzon. Cullari agreed to attend Falzon’s Candidates Forum more than eight weeks prior to the event. Only through third party sources as the event neared, did the Cullari Campaign learn that the format had been changed to a debate without any communication or agreement from Cullari or his surrogates.

Every aspect of the debate proposed by Cullari is to ensure that each candidate has an equal opportunity to be heard by the voters and that no one candidate has an unfair advantage over the other. If any facet of the venue, format, or the stipulations surrounding the debate changes, the Cullari Campaign pledges to notify all involved parties to discuss the proposed changes immediately.

The Little Team has not responded to Cullari’s debate request.

2 candidates competitng to see who wants to get 38% of the vote against Pallone

  2. Mark Falzon said at 3:36 pm on May 29th, 2012:

Cullari’s polling must be down because now overt lies are entering the debate.
I WAS NOT a Little supporter until AFTER Cullari turned tail and hid from our 5/23 Lincoln-Douglas type debate.
I am very happy with my pro-Little position now, especially since the Cullari campaign folks appear to be losing their minds, publicizing all sorts of non-essential garbage and distortions.
Are you ready for this state secret? I am a Conservative Democrat. Only thing is, almost every TP activist knows this and has known for quite a while. I not only have not hid this fact, I have proclaimed it openly, publicly, many times. I cannot vote in this GOP primary. But when Anna wins, I have offered to speak on her behalf at any Dem gathering.
I myself was eager to challenge Pallone in the Dem primary but my personal resources were so meager I could not make the attempt. I was on the Dem primary ballot 2010, but the Dems took me to court and knocked me off the ballot.
Message to Ernesto: It may be too late but this campaign team you have assembled is torpedoing your effort. There was much hesitation on behalf of Tea Party groups in supporting Anna this year. There was an opening for you. But after the Monmouth County GOP’s sleezy method of endorsing EC at their convention and overt, uneserved GOP support for EC, the TP groups read between the lines and fell in behind Anna again. You blew it sir and all the negative garbage your campaign team puts out will not change that.

I can verify that Mark Falzon AND the JSTPP did NOT endorse Anna Little at the time of the debate. We do not follow each other in our endorsements. Whoever says they don’t know that is a not being truthful. Also, just because a group endorsed a candidate, there are members who withheld their votes until they checked the candidates further. They may not have been present at vettings. That debate could have given Ernesto votes or endorsements. From what I hear now, that does not look like the situation. Ernesto is just more of the same. A member of “the club” .

I just don’t trust Barbara & the BSTP after all of their tirades over at the other post, and I have never trusted self serving Mark Falzone.

It also sounds like Falzone is still whining about 2010.

Mark, what sleazy way of endorsing Ernesto occurred? Was it sleazy only because Anna wasn’t picked for the line? It sounds like you are whining about that too.

Please tell us since you are making the charges.

Finally, as to “negative stuff,” what is negative about Anna when it’s the truth about her campaign filings and loose cannon way of doing business? What’s negative about her not being able to get along with campaign managers and losing endorsements that she had in 2010?

Please tell us since you are making the charges.

    Mr. Falzon,

I find it hard to believe that you head a political organization when your public writing is so coarse.

Politics, when done correctly, would require you as the head of an organization to treat people with dignity and respect at all times.

Look at just your comment above. You use words like “garbage” and “sleazy.”

  6. Justified Right said at 5:59 pm on May 29th, 2012:

    continued from above…

Why, Mr. Falzon, would you use such low wording while speaking for others – others I doubt very much would appreciate riff-raff sort or writing representing them.

Politics requires you to think past today into tomorrow.

Why in the world would anyone wish for Anna, Ernesto, their surrogates or supporters to start hammering one another to the point where relationships are soured toward the future?

I can’t think of a reason to bloody either of them. I know them both. I know both their politics. Their is no reason to treat either like I suddenly see them being treated in the comments sections of this website.

One will win and one will lose, but neither is a person I would put in a paragraph with words like “garbage” and “sleazy.”

I don’t know you sir, but I hope I can convince you that you do no good for the creditbility of your organization when you go after good people with the such harsh language.

It is hard enough for the one who does not prevail to fall in behind their Republican compatriot who does – but it is the right thing to do. Why would anyone want to make it unnecessarily harder?

I honestly think a debate between them would be useless. They are very likely of similar minds on most issues. Anna would be at a decided disadvantage having a record to defend.

I say this with the benefit of know all three: Ernesto and Anna are both far to the right of Frank Pallone.

Neither deserves the treatment you are giving Ernesto.

And lets be clear about something, because this isn’t my first time around the political block – you don’t invite a candidate to a meet and greet and let him learn from his opponent that it is a debate.

Barbara saying above that you had not “endorsed” a candidate prior to that is of no import – you obviously made up your mind despite not having publically endorsed a candidate.

What you did made your group appear untrustworthy.

I hope you will have the adult constitution to take what I say as constructive criticis and stop using such crass wording in your public writing.

If you do the same to me in response, you’ll not do your group and good by that.

  7. The Overseer said at 6:48 pm on May 29th, 2012:

Anna, “we the people” want a debate! What are you waiting for?!?!?!

  8. Freespeaker1976 said at 9:37 pm on May 29th, 2012:

I Second Justified Right & The Overseer

  9. Freespeaker1976 said at 9:39 pm on May 29th, 2012:

BTW, NOT that I am thrilled with our nominee, he as clinched the nomination. Ron Paul is not going to be the nominee.

Time to suck it up Tea Partiers, like all of the other supporters of other candidates are doing

  10. Eric said at 11:46 pm on May 29th, 2012:

Interesting a push wasn’t made for a Senate debate? Be interesting to see an upset for Rullo!

What Eric said at 11:46 pm on May 29th, 2012: “Interesting a push wasn’t made for a Senate debate? Be interesting to see an upset for Rullo!”

So Eric, this has moved from “Rullo will take Ocean County in a landslide” to it would be interesting to see an upset.

I CAN’T WAIT to see the excuses from the narcissistic one when he barely get’s noticed. Will he even carry his home town? After all, if Anna Little couldn’t; how could Rullo?

We’ll be ROFLAO over the Rullo excuses long into the night
