Newsmax: Christie Reconsidering 2012 White House Run
Obama responds by outlawing asthma inhalers
Newsmax is reporting that Governor Chris Christie is reconsidering his decision not to be a presidential candidate in 2012 and will make his new decision within days.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is reconsidering his decision not to enter the 2012 presidential race — and he says he will let top Republican donors know within days about his plans, Newsmax has learned.
During the past few weeks, several leading Republican donors and fundraisers have been urging the popular Republican governor to reconsider his decision not to run and to enter the GOP primary.
These Christie supporters note that significant GOP support has remained on the sidelines of the primary fight. Many leading fundraisers have yet to commit to any current primary contender, including frontrunners Rick Perry and Mitt Romney.
Newsmax has learned that the effort to draft Christie culminated in a hush-hush powwow held in the past week with Christie and several notable Republican billionaires.
A source familiar with the meeting suggested that Christie seemed inclined to enter the race but said he needed more time.
Christie promised to make a final decision “within two weeks,” the source said.
Another source involved in GOP fundraising tells Newsmax that that uncommitted fundraisers and donors have been receiving phone calls from top political aides to Christie, seeking their feedback about his possible entry into the race.
President Obama must have gotten word of Christie’s secret meetings with billionaire Republicans. The Obama Administration’s EPA is set to ban over-the-counter asthma inhalers.
Christie suffers from asthma and uses an inhaler.
Mike DuHaime, Christie’s chief political strategist, has not responded to MMM’s inquiry as to the accuracy of the Newsmax story.
UPDATE
Christie confidant and advisor Bill Palatucci says, “Newsmax is wrong,” according to the Star Ledger’s Mexican reporter Ginger Gibson via twitter.
Which party was he going to run in???
NOT for this. I mean, I love the guy, but he should finish his elected term and not run out on those he promised to serve.
The press will beat him over the head with the sound bites of him saying he wasn’t running and then call him a liar.
There are plenty capable people running on the Republican side, excepting for Paul who would leave us defenseless against runaway Islamic terrorism and “Gary What’s His Name,” the other loon who plagiarized Rush’s comments about shovel ready jobs from his dog.
The guy’s eyes were all over the place. I couldn’t stand looking at him

Do you know how I know that Christie will not run? Because he said it. Emphatically – thousands of times. He could never survive on the Presidential debating stage trying to explain a lie, he is not a liar, so he will not run.

Speaking of secret meetings, I just took a look at the Governor’s schedule for next week. Chris Christie will be out of the state all week for events that are partisan, private and from which the press is prohibited. (See the link below.)
The taxpayers of NJ pay the Governor a salary of about $4,000 a week. I wonder if Chris Christie ever feels any shame cashing those paychecks that he receives?
State GOP releases Christie’s fundraiser schedule
Sancho: President Obama spent 7.5 weeks outside of Washington so far this year, campaigning or vacationing. The taxpayers of USA pay him about $8,000 a week. Plus each such pleasure outing is costing millions more in security costs. Wonder what kind of shame he feels when he’s cashing in those paychecks.
The jails are full of petty thieves who assuage their individual guilt by pointing out that other individuals have stolen far more than they have. Ordinary murderers take comfort in the realization that they aren’t as bad as Hitler or Stalin. Those who rape adults are quick to point out that they aren’t pedophiles. Psychologists call this coping mechanism deflection. It is easy to spot. It is the defense most often employed by those who lack a credible defense.
Thank you, Chris, for giving us an example of deflection in your post above. The Governor and his cheerleaders are in your debt.
Very funny Sancho. Especially since the token response to any accusation to the Obaministration is “Bush was worse!”
