Monmouth County had 15% decline in opioid related deaths in 2019

There was a 15% decline in opioid related overdose deaths in 2019, according to a tweet by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

There was 167 overdose fatalities in the County in 2019, compared to 197 in 2018.

Progress: We are pleased to report that Monmouth Cty saw a 15% reduction in opiate-related overdose deaths in 2019 (167) as compared to 2018 (197). Still a long way to go but welcome news. Special thanks to countywide first responders for saving so many lives with naloxone!
