Hundreds Remember Dallas, Pray For Racial Reconciliation.

Hundreds of law enforcement officers, first responders and civilians gathered at the Monmouth County Police Academy Monday evening to honor the fallen police officers slain last week in Dallas and to pray for racial reconciliation throughout America.

The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office estimated that there were between 800 and 900 people present.

Wreaths were laid as the badge numbers and names of Officer Brent Thompson, Officer Patrick Zamarripa, Sgt. Michael Smith, Senior Cpl. Lorne Ahrens, Officer Michael Krol were recited in a roll call and there status noted as 10-7; out of service.

Sheriff Shaun Golden lead the ceremony that he said originated in a conversation between two Holmdel police officers last Friday morning as they discussed the tragedy in Dallas the night before when sniper fire shattered the peaceful assembly of a Black Live Matter rally that was beginning to disperse.
