Marlboro Republican Council Candidate Resigns
Frank DeBlasi, the top vote getter in the Republican primary in Marlboro eariler this month, has withdrawn as a candidate, according to a statement by Selika Josiah Gore, the Chair of the Township’s Republican Committee.
Gore said that DeBlasi withdrew because of unforeseen personal circumstances.
“Frank was a great candidate with a true desire to serve the public and bring new Republican Leadership to Marlboro,” said Gore, “While we regret his withdrawal, we appreciate his integrity. We hope to see his name on the ballot again in the future.”
The Marlboro Republican Committee will meet later this month to endorse to new candidate for council. Any Marlboro voter interested in running is invited to submit a resume and letter in intent to JoAnn Denton, the campaign manager for the 2015 Republican “Positively Marlboro” campaign.
The new candidate will join running mates Ira Goldberg for Mayor and Sui Allex for Council on the campaign trail and on the ballot in November. Denton is accepting applications at [email protected] or via U.S. Mail to Marlboro Republican Committee, P.O. Box 270, Marlboro, NJ 07746. Submissions should be received by Friday, June 26, 2015.
Potential candidates must be registered to vote and either be registered Republicans or willing to become affiliated with the Republican Party.
The Marlboro Republican candidates will be facing off against Mayor Jon Hornik and Council Members Randi Mardar and Michael Scalea in November.
Could it be the romp Mr. DiBlasi sees the Democrats will have over the Republicans in Marlboro?? There are many problems in Marlboro that began with Republican leadership–or lack thereof–in Marlboro. If I recall, the Asbury Park Press ran an article about the Scannapieco Corruption years, and its lasting impact on Marlboro.
I think with Christie’s popularity at a new low, Republicans throughout the county cannot take any election for granted.

This is not news. Word is that he called it quits after just 2 weeks and the Republicans tried to keep this quiet till after the so called primary election.
Word has it that he was fed up with the fact that Gore, the Deans and Marshall were all over him trying to brow beat him with their version of history.
He is a smart guy and refused to buy what they were selling.
It will be interesting to see what other ethinic group they will try and tap in order to garner support. They are running out of groups.
@jimmy jones
if i have to choose between a racist’s favorite and a member of an ‘ethnic group’, i’ll choose the latter.
