President Obama will be visiting Lehman College in the Bronx today for the launch of the My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, a non-profit spin off of a White House initiative intended to help men of color finish high school or find jobs.

Your Spouse’s commute could be impacted by the President’s travel.

Seastreak announced this afternoon that ferry delays and temporary closures of Pier 11 are expected between 2:45-3:45 this afternoon and again this evening between 9 and 10.

    Sounds discriminatory. Earliest I can do is August 28th between 7:30am and 8:00 am if anyone else wants to take the day off of work to protest riot? I’ll be protesting rioting in my suit so that I can just take a cab over to work afterwards, if anyone else is heading the same direction, maybe we can share an Uber ride?

    you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.

    @Sounds,
    Don’t be an ass. Your comment is not helpful.

    One of the many, many reasons the local tea party group (what’s left of it) has acquired such a bad reputation in recent years, is for posting comments like that one.

    if it was devoted to another race, there’d be cries of discrimination the other way: excuse some people, for believing he sees 150 million in dollar signs, like the dear Clintons have raked in, since the drapes at the White House went missing, when they finally left..his never having actually worked for a living, the pattern of capitalizing for one’s own big payouts and elite lifestyle continues..while the hypocrites pound more blood and sweat from the actual producing,taxpaying, exhausted citizens.. perhaps there wouldn’t be any need for substitute fathering, if the libs, over decades, hadn’t perpetuated the culture of welfare/ government dependence, and demise of the family and personal responsibility,that is rotting our country from the inside out. The moment anyone on the right dares to try to move us toward free markets, personal liberty, and adherence to our founding Constitution, this is the crap mantra they repeatedly get.

    Let’s have a real, honest discussion about race…
    –30 seconds later what you people are going to be crying– You’re a RACIST!

    You apologists are unable, or afraid, to face the truth that, over the years, politicians on both sides have dumped more and more money into black “communities”, a term I use loosely as a real community would take care of each other and help one another to succeed where the black “community” largely promotes the welfare state, ignorance, and anti-authority sentiment. All of these years, special programs and money later and the politicians and “leaders” have very little, if any at all, positive results to show for it, but some, like the Clintons, Sharpon, Jackson, etc have made millions while black “communities” continue to struggle with unemployment, education, domestic abuse, drugs, and on and on.

    A prime example of money not solving problems is the $10K+ premium on education per child in Asbury Park that has not helped the men and women of color there to graduate and go on to successful, buy any measure, careers and lives. Meanwhile the lower costs of places like High Tech, MAST, CHS, etc are producing standout students year after year. The old saying is that money can’t solve problems, so let’s stop throwing money at the people in these “communities” and as “Stop” notes, put some burden of responsibility on these people. The Obamas, like the Clintons before them, are just trying to capitalize on black “communities” and offer no strategy or plan to improve the racial divide in this nation.
