KWANZAA CELEBRATION, HOLIDAY FUN, SPOKEN WORD & MORE ON SPRINGWOOD AVENUE

A Day of Community & Togetherness

On Saturday, December 13, a Day of Community is happening at
Springwood and Atkins Avenue in Asbury Park, it is the place to be. Although these are three different events, the message of togetherness, community, cultural awareness and unity binds and intertwines them together.

Start your afternoon off at 2pm and join the City of Asbury Park
at the AP Senior Center, located upstairs over theKula Cafe,
1201 Springwood Avenue for a Kwanzaa Celebration.
An African American holiday in which we reflect upon African heritage and culture. Come join in the fun & celebration of this cultural event and enjoy cultural music, featuring the M’Zume Carnaval, a percussion ensemble presenting carnival rhythms
from Brazil, Africa and Cuba and a DJ, prizes, fun and much more.

Then at 4pm , join the Asbury Park Community Action Network in a Super Safe Christmas Extravanganza at Springwood Park, located at 1199 Springwood Avenue in Asbury Park and Help light the way to a Super Safe Community in Asbury Park. Featuring
live performances from: Macedonia Baptist Church Youth Choir
Triumphant Life Mime and Dance Ministry – St. Stephen AME Zion Church Youth Choir- Allen Chapel Praise Dancers & Asbury Park High School Band. It includes FREE hot chocolate to warm your insides and tasty cookies for all, plus there will be kids activities,
a visit from Santa Claus and the lighting of the Springwood Park Christmas Tree with the help of the children.

Then beginning at 5:45pm, Konscious Youth Development & Service Organization (KYDS) will be presenting One Mic-One Soul Featuring former Asbury Park Resident, Tigga Rai and Neptune Resident, Mychal Mills inside the warm and cozyKula Cafe
Joining them will be Neptune Resident, Jean Paul Saintil & Marlboro Resident, Rodney Salomon.
