Long Branch Mayor Adam Schneider, a Democrat, today endorsed the all female Republican team of legislators in New Jersey’s 11th district, Senator Jennifer Beck and Assemblywomen Mary Pat Angelini and Caroline Casagrande.

“I have a worked closely with our legislators on a variety of issues,” said Schneider in a statement issued by the Republican legislators, “They always have the best interests of Long Branch in mind and have gone out of their way to help our residents.  Senator Beck, Assemblywoman Angelini and Assemblywoman Casagrande manage to keep partisan politics out of the picture and focus on the issue at hand. I am proud to work with them and offer them my endorsement.”

In addition to endorsing the Republican legislators from his district, Schneider is one of over 50 Democratic elected officials who have endorsed Governor Chris Christie.

“Oh, that was nice of him,” said Red Bank Councilman Ed Zipprich, a Democratic candidate challenging Angelini and Casagrande, when informed of Schneider’s endorsement.

Monmouth County Democratric Chairman Vin Gopal was surprised that Schneider endorse all three Republican women representing the 11th.  “He endorsed all three of them?” Gopal asked twice, “No, I have no comment.”

“Mayor Schneider is a great mayor and his focus is always the people of Long Branch,” said Beck. “We are honored to receive this endorsement from such a popular and influential mayor in our district. At a time when, at the national level, it looks like partisan politics rules the day, I think it is a good sign that here in New Jersey we can put party loyalties aside and focus on what really matters – our residents.”Beck Angelini and Casagrande

“I am honored to have the support of my good friend, Adam Schneider,” said Angelini. “Mayor Schneider understands that we need to work in a bi-partisan manner to take on the serious challenges facing our state. Even though we may be of different political parties, Adam shares our goals of improving our quality of life and making our state more affordable.”

“Mayor Schneider’s support is an important affirmation that we are on the right track in reaching across the aisle to find solutions to the problems we face in New Jersey ” says Casagrande.  “Democrats and Republicans must work together in the interests of the hardworking taxpayer to continue to make our state more affordable to live and do business.  Long Branch is an important part of District 11 and we thank the Mayor for his endorsement.”

So if he chooses to not pull the party line…that’s a bad thing? I mean come on. He knows the amount of good that these legislators have done for this district.

The fact is, I saw what these women did in helping people before & after Sandy. What I did not see were the Dem. candidates anywhere.
