Christie Skipping Rand Paul’s Endorsement Of Lonegan
U.S. Senator Rand Paul is coming to New Jersey on September 13 to endorse Steve Lonegan for Senate in the October 16 Special Election against Cory Booker.
Governor Chris Christie, who had a well publicized rift with Paul over the NSA’s monitoring of domestic communications, was invited to attend the Friday afternoon rally. Christie and Paul are widely considered GOP contenders for the 2016 presidential nomination.
Christie declined the invitation because he will be away celebrating the First Lady’s 50th birthday.
When Ron Paul gave a speech in front of the State House in Trenton a few years ago, Christie was conveniently out of town. We soon found out that he was endorsing unelectable Romney.
Now, Mr. “no-coattails” is holding his nose on Lonegan and can’t wait until it is over. Maybe this is a good omen for Steve?
But, methinks that if one aspires to be a president, confronting with class and grace one’s potential adversary, could go a long way towards statesmanship- wait, what is that, today?? What, they couldn’t celebrate the birthday on another day? Shades of Disney at Christmas??
Perhaps Christie has heard of the ancient proverb that goes “one should avoid trainwrecks” Besides why should Christie want to be seen with two people (Paul and Lonegan) who opposed hurricane Sandy relief from the federal government even though NJ taxpayers have contributed tens of billions of dollars that has gone to other states in past decades when disaster stuck.
Rand Paul has zero chance of being elected President.
Bob has it right, the guys who aren’t pretending to be Robin Hood, taking from Peter to give to Paul, have zero chance of being elected [President]. Troubling to say the least.
