Guard Against Skin Cancer
With the summer season now here and tremendous excitement to get back to the beach, I strongly urge people to take preventative steps to guard against the most dangerous form of skin cancer, melanoma.
Over the last 30 years, the number of people diagnosed with melanoma has continually risen and the American Cancer Society estimates that more than 9,000 Americans will lose their battle with this deadliest type of skin cancer in 2013 alone. And that is only a fraction of the almost 77,000 cases of melanoma that are expected to be diagnosed this year.
Melanoma is different from most other cancers in that it commonly affects people of all ages. In fact, many melanoma victims are only in their twenties.
Like many other cancers, melanoma is very treatable if detected early. However, cases that are not treated early can become more serious and more difficult to treat, and can even be fatal.
I know firsthand the importance of early detection of this deadly disease. Having been diagnosed with malignant melanoma in January, I am thankful it was recognized early and was determined to be treatable.
However, many people diagnosed with melanoma are not so fortunate and that is why I strongly urge people to take advantage of the easy steps that can help to prevent this form of skin cancer. When going outside, using sunscreen is one of the simplest and most important ways to protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun.
In addition, you should take advantage of skin screenings and be aware of any changes to your skin, especially moles that are suspicious in shape, color, or change in appearance over time.
While melanoma can be deadly, the good news is that it can be prevented and treated by being proactive and utilizing a few simple steps.
Dave Rible represents the 30th Legislative District in the New Jersey State Assembly. He is the Republican Conference Leader.
Is this the guy that was cop for a few years and then claimed that his bad back made him permanently and totally disabled? Doesn’t he now collect over $50k a year plus bennies in a tax-free disability pension? Once he started collecting that disability pension, didn’t Dave Rible run 5K races, go to the gym, dance, start a locksmith business, serve in the NJ Legislature and generally act like someone that is not disabled?
David Rible ought to be ashamed of himself. He has nothing to say that I need to hear.
Stuff it.
The guy is giving a good message that is based on him coming down with melanoma. It is a DEADLY skin cancer. I lost a friend to it. But you have to make it political. Shame on you.
But, to toss water on your issue; there are different types of disability clauses and Dave was disabled under such a clause in his legal contract.
Now, for the low information voters like yourself; we’ve been through this before. Dave’s doctor recommends running. You NEED to exercise bad backs. I know, I have one
Would YOU want a cop with a bad back trying to apprehend a guy with a gun pointed at you?
So, maybe you have something WE don’t want to hear.

Is the above comment from the same liar who retells the same lies that convicted liar Dwek tells about everyone else? The same liar who didn’t get a job with the Sheriff’s department and now cries about it every change he gets? The same liar who buses in out of staters to try to fill an event in his favor? The same liar who thinks a state senator should handle local BOE issues? The same liar who is double-dipping as he cries?
I was wondering the same thing.

You guys are predictable if nothing else. Like any third-rate lawyer who can’t argue the facts, you guys desperately seek to change the subject. Poorly played, Mister Rible.
No, I am not Jim Sage; nor have I ever applied for a government job. I’ve never been convicted of anything other than overtime parking in Belmar. I also haven’t cyber-stalked Senator Jen Beck, the Lt. Governor or any other elected official that refused to help me feed at the government trough. Do I warrant a parade for not being the Mayor of Crazy Town? Of course not. That said, can I now express my opinion without you trying to undermine that opinion by supposing that I am the oh-so-bitter village nut?
I have more respect for an accused burglar that pleads guilty to his charges than I do for Assemblyman David Rible. Rible is not worthy of my respect; a repentant thief is.
Isn’t that the lie Sheriff Golden was spreading??? Sheesh, you guys fall for anything..lol
Are you talking about this?
