Christie Launches TV Ad, Buono Responds With Plea For Money
Governor Chris Christie launched a $1.2 million television ad campaign this morning entitled Jersey Proud. Thankfully, the ad does not mention the words ‘Corzine’ or ‘Democrats.’ It does include a photo of Christie with Sea Bright Mayor Dina Long, a Democrat who has endorsed the governor for reelection.
State Senator Barbara Buono, the presumptive Democratic gubernatorial nominee dubbed “Dawn Quixote” by MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews responded with an email plea to her supporters asking for money.
I’ll keep this short. Chris Christie went up with his first ad of the election today. If we want to respond we’ve got to hit our goal by the May 6th deadline. There isn’t a moment to waste – Christie will spend millions to try and hide his failed record, and we can’t afford to fall behind.

We need your help to stop Chris Christie. Please do what you can and click here to contribute now.
Thanks for standing up and rejecting Chris Christie’s failed agenda.

Buono, who is receiving state matching funds for her primary campaign, is on the verge of being the first major party candidate in the history of the program not to qualify for the maximum state match. Since declaring her candidacy in December, Buono has raised an average of $29,000 per week. In order to ‘max out’ on state matching funds, she will have to raise $216,000 per week over the last six weeks of the primary campaign.
Buono selected Bonie Watson Coleman as her campaign manager. Coleman has advocated exclusively for criminals and thugs, like her two felon sons. Bonie Watson Coleman is personally is responsible for gun deaths in this state.
By selecting Bonie Watson Coleman as her campaign manager, Buono has made it clear that the safety of the public, including police and teachers in high crime areas like Newark and Camden, is less important that protecting criminals.
At the risk of raining on the parade, many school districts still receive considerably less state aid than they did prior to Christie becoming Governor. There is also the matter of $475 million in local surplus funds that districts were forced to spend in lieu of receiving state aid in early 2010 that has never been returned. That is $475 million that could have/would have been used to cushion future local property tax increases that basically was stolen by Trenton and used to plug up the holes in the states budget.
The state was left in a financial mess by the financial genius. whose solution to avoid tax increases was to sell the toll roads and piss away that money. The school boards were spending their own money for themselves because the state treasury was empty.
