Former Candidate Preparing To Challenge Golden for Monmouth County Sheriff

Dan Peters of Middletown has twice in the past filed to run in the Monmouth County GOP primary for Sheriff.

In 2007, Peters filed petitons to run for the seat which was being vacated by Joe Oxley, but he did not meet the residency requirement for the office.  Monmouth Beach Commissioner Kim Guadagno was nominated by the GOP and was elected Sheriff.

Peters threw his hat into the ring again in 2010, mounting an unsuccessful challenge to Shaun Golden who had replaced Guadagno when she became Lt. Governor.

Peters created the Dan Peters for Sheriff facebook page on March 1, 2013.  It would appear that he is preparing to make another run against Golden.

Bayshore Tea Party Group co-founder Barbara Gonzalez would not confirm or deny that Peters has the group’s backing.  She offered to ask Peters to call MMM.

Sheriff Golden is unopposed for the Monmouth Republican County Committee’s endorsement which be be formalized at the GOP convention at Colts Neck High School on Saturday morning, March 23.

    Best of luck Dan. While below are some major issues that are costing taxpayers dearly, please find out why Cynthia Scott, Public Information Officer, has a take home car and lives only 4 miles from her place of employment.

    Also, find out what the revenues are for housing federal prisoners, but more importantly, the EXPENSES with housing them in the jail. That will reveal whether or not the county is getting sorely needed funds. Something Golden has never revealed.

    This is getting interesting. Is this a BSTP push for relevance? I like to see the “tit for tat” Peters and Golden will have. I don’t know if Sage would destroy Golden, but he would hurl some major things around that could really hurt Shaun. But like one said, he has other obligations –with war veterans .     Why doesn’t Golden have a Facebook site?? Is he afraid of the negativity he may receive running the Sheriff’s Department???

    Perhaps he should stop attending all the parties he goes to and attend his offical business in an attempt to bring officer overtime down!!

    Chris Christie said it best Saturday when he warmly and rightfully complimented Sheriff Golden on the extremely competent and fantastic job Golden did in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy

    Is your name Jim Sage and are you jealous that you don’t get to go to parties?

    Besides, are you naive enough to believe that Democrats don’t got to parties?

    Why aren’t the dems running Brophy? I wanted to see him eat all that shit he spewed about correction officers being murderers. His Facebook page says he still wants it, guess he don’t have the balls, or support to try for real.
