Bayshore Tea Party Promises Primaries
Monmouth GOP Chairman John O. Bennett III invited Bayshore Tea Party Group Co-Founder Barbara Gonzalez to speak at the GOP Unity Breakfast last Saturday.
Gonzalez and fellow co-founder Robert Gordon responded on Monday by issuing a statement to say something that Gonzalez forgot to say to the Unity gathering on Saturday: Every Republican can expect a primary if they don’t do what the Tea Party wants them to do.
Here’s the statement:
Sometimes, we have the opportunity to say what we think to a group of people, but later wish we had said more. MOST times, we still need to get our opinion out there one way or another regardless of who is or isn’t listening or who does or does not care. Barbara had the opportunity to speak at the Republican Unity Breakfast on Saturday. We truly appreciate that opportunity since we are not elected officials. We thank John Bennett for giving us the opportunity. Since Barbara did not expect to speak, she wasn’t able to have anything prepared but we think she covered it pretty well. We did want to add one thing however, in thinking back on the points that were made. We wanted to add that as angry as we are at the left, we are also very angry with the Republicans. Some of the decisions that have been made not only on a national level, but on a local level, would have our Founding Fathers turning in their graves. The GOP needs to understand that THIS is why there is a TEA party. Not just to defeat Obama but to make sure that the Republican party, whom we are more closely aligned with, will do what they promised to do. Some have drifted so far left, that one would think they were progessive democrats. Some have hurt feelings because we did not support them. This is not about feelings….this is about doing their job and doing what they were elected to do. Most of us admit that we haven’t paid enough attention and it’s partially our fault for letting this happen, but now that we see what our representatives have done, we are very much aware and awake. There will be no more compromises. We did not come on board for this election with our tail between our legs. It was because of the constitutional ruling on Obamacare that we see what we must do. Make no mistake……if Senator Kyrillos, Anna Little and Mitt Romney do not do as they promised, We can predict how the TEA party groups will react. We see every Republican being primary-ed no matter what the result. We see a new party arising. We implore the Republican party to get on board with the TEA party and participate in a full scale grassroots campaign to raise awareness and turn this election into a landslide. After announcing at the “UNITY” breakfast on Saturday that we were having a Repeal Obamacare Rally the next day, and asking the Republicans to join us….one man and his son came. ONE MAN AND HIS SON!Not an auspicious start!We will leave it at that.

We want to get our way. This is unity? Show up at the breakfast and then on Monday say what you didn’t have the guts to say on Saturday Babs? You know what you were thinking, you knew what is in your heart and in your game plan. Have the guts to say it.

Same old, same old from the local wing of the Democrat Party. Let’s see, John Bennett was gracious enough to let her speak and what happens next? Threats and trashing of Republicans. In the selfish world of the BSTP, Republicans should have ignored the water crisis that affected most of Monmouth County and stood on the side of the road waving signs. The BSTP is the best thing that ever happened to the democrats who are destroying this country. So, here’s the lesson. If you don’t go along with every silly, meaningless stunt the BSTP comes up with, you will be primaried. I guess after the backstabbing poor Joe Kyrillos got from these two-faced whiners, nothing should surprise us. Yet they support Anna Little, who screwed the people of the Highlands by voting along with the liberal Democrats to cozy up to the unions. Go figure.
What’s remarkable is that there was a Unity Breakfast and zero coverage either prior to or since on this blog.
Yes, name – was wondering about no report as well. I would have gone even just for curiosity sake to see who showed, who didn’t etc. if not for family reunion over the past weekend. No one on behalf of MMM in attendance? Love to hear about it from anyone who was there – small or large crowd, what kind of mix? Who else spoke? Atmosphere?
Oh no—all seven cultists will run a primary. This from a group who supported every single candidate that wasn’t named Romney and now want us to rally around them??? And how did their darling Bader do??? How’s that Ron Paul revolution shaping up????

Yes I agree that the group shouldn’t have posted an after thought. But lets be honest with ourselves. We all know their isn’t barely an elected official in Trenton or Washington that knows, understand or cares about the constitution nor do they care about any of us. This goes for Republicans and Democrats. But of course many of you won’t admit to it. Perhaps because you think maybe someday it could be you in the position in which to rule. Maybe some of you just want to be like hyenas and run with the pack. I dont believe any of you have true American Ruggedness in you. Who gives a rat’s bunns about this woman? She speaks for what, one person? There is no TEA party. They are not united. Never have been. Never will be.
The funniest thing about this entire article and comments that followed after is that this shows the major disconnect between reality and everyone else’s perception of reality. Arguing and arguing over comments and statements made by someone with the end result of it all is getting us no where.
of being beaten to death and/or opening any old wounds, factually: over 200 attended the Unity Breakfast, at the Freehold HQ, on the 30th.. many stayed beyond the 2 hrs. advertised, just chatting,laughing, eating, and networking.. there were actually two rounds of speeches, as the notables came in waves-the earlier, led by Lt. Gov. Kim.. the latter, by Sen. Joe K.. it was very crowded, so only heard: “we want to work with the GOP” from Ms. Gonzalez, even those who don’t support her were respectful.. it was FINE, ok?…the only notable person missing, who later said she had a “family commitment,” was Mrs. Hanlon..and, former Chair Joe was working at his dad’s camp,on his birthday.. a table full of her former supporters were quite disappointed at her not showing, but again, everyone was in a good mood, and obviously ready to unite in the fall, and win elections.. understand Rhoda was there for the later speeches, and took some photos, which she usually posts on Facebook.. even with running out of coffee, ice water, and cold diet sodas, and with just a few crumbs left, it honestly was a very positive event.. if the few remaining grumps/naysayers would like to come on board and help out in any way, am sure they’d be welcome, as there’s much to do, with no time to hypothetically worry about any perceived “primaries,” starting NEXT year!.. thanks for the moment..
We need unity here… it is now time to acknowledge that babs is in charge of the t(g)op and should be included in all decisions that require thought. Following babs will insure success

I am a follower for Anna Little for Congress and am sorry to hear that Anna is tied up with John Bennett . When some dirty wash comes out on the former 6 day Governor it will only come back to haunt her. Anna is a good lady and doesn’t need all the bad mouthing from anyone. Highlands loved her and she did what was right for the majority of you in the HIGHLANDS.iTS ONLY YOU LOSING democratic voters that are knocking her>and yes the bayshore tea party that dumped her a whi:le back>
