A word from Dr. William J. Flynn, MD

dr-flynns-ad

MMM received this image in an email this morning under the heading, “Can this be true?”

In a phone call, Holly from Dr. Flynn’s office confirmed the authenticity of the ad.  She said that since it was published on February 5  she has fielded several calls daily from throughout the country.  Only 2 calls have been negative.

Published reports peg the cost of the Obama Hawaii vacation at $4 million dollars.  The First Lady went to Hawaii before the President.  Her flight alone cost at least $100,000.

So nice to see the Obama’s using our taxes to enjoy themselves with such style, while the rest of us struggle to survive in his failed economy.

We haven’t been able to afford a family vacation in 2 years. Maybe when he’s voted out of office we can finally get some rest too.

Rick please get with the times ..Bush …that was in the capitalistic era O’bama is the new socialist era ….”from those that have to those that want “

Rick, all of the numbers in that story came from Media Matters, which means they’re about as trustworthy as a Chicago politician.

  6. Bob English said at 6:32 pm on March 8th, 2012:

Why does Dr. Flynn refer to “Michelle Obama’s vacation” when the President and his entire familly went on the trip over the holidays?

It would be like referring to the numerous Bush family trips to their ranch as “Laura Bush’s vacations.”

  7. Sancho Panza said at 6:46 pm on March 8th, 2012:

@”Why does Dr. Flynn refer to “Michelle Obama’s vacation” when the President and his entire familly went on the trip over the holidays?”
Most likely because she flew early on her own private plane at extra cost to us taxpayers.
What’s more surprising is that the author didn’t mention her luxury skiing vacation in just the next month. That must be some heavy workload she’s carrying!

  8. Bob English said at 9:38 pm on March 8th, 2012:

The President delayed the start of his vacation for a week (while his family traveled on ahead to Hawaii) and was prepared to stay in Washington and cancel it altogether unless the payroll tax cuts were extended.

  9. I'm not a Team Player - I'm a Change Agent said at 11:44 pm on March 8th, 2012:

When they start going after the first lady, it just proves they have no ammo left to launch at the President.

And if only GW Bush had spent EVERY day on vacation on the ranch he may have cancelled out the costs of his bad decisions by not “decidin” anything!

  10. Sancho Panza said at 8:02 am on March 9th, 2012:

It is not news that except for the White House perks, Michelle Obama really can’t stand the institution, especially the accompanying scrutiny on her and her family that comes with the position of power.

  11. Chris said at 10:03 am on March 9th, 2012:

Note that Bush spent $20 mil in 8 years. Obama spent $4 mil in just ONE Christmas vacation. Bush vacationed mostly at his Texas ranch, so there were not many extra costs (including accommodations, activities, etc.) The Obamas’ vacations are in Hawaii, Aspen, European ski resorts, Rio, etc, that’s why they cost $4-5 mil each. And people use the “Michelle Obama vacations” phrase because not only she goes on vacation often by herself (on taxpayer money), but even when they go together they travel separately, so they double the transportation cost.

  12. Rick Ambrosia said at 11:03 am on March 9th, 2012:

Chris, you failed to read the whole article. That $20MM was for air travel alone. That didn’t include all the people that HAVE to travel with any President. Those numbers for this President did include those figures. You also failed to see the amount of time spent away from Washington. And believe me, I do not begrudge ANY President vacation time away from the lunacy, but fair is fair. At least, on my side it is. On your side, not so much.

  13. Doctor No said at 11:31 am on March 9th, 2012:

The above ad was financed by those good old fashioned “socialist” programs – Medicare and Medicaid. Given the good doctor’s rather slanted information gathering, I would be worried if I were his patient.

  14. Common Sense said at 1:05 pm on March 9th, 2012:

    The bottom line is…
Why would ANY politician take luxurious vacations at a time when so many Americans are loosing their jobs, their health insurance, their homes, AND their life savings???  Is Obama so out of touch with reality that he can’t see how insulting this is to the average American???

So Dr. William J. Flynn, an average citizen, became so sickened by the status quo he took out an ad in his local newspaper to express his disgust. Good for him.  I’m sure he speaks for many.

  15. Come to NJ said at 2:32 pm on March 9th, 2012:

The Florida doc needs to learn the art of overbooking patients like our doctors in NJ.
The ones I’ve seen here all live in Rumson or Little Silver and still have ample time for golfing.

  16. Common Sense said at 3:20 pm on March 9th, 2012:

Be thankful for those doctors while they’re still around.  Once Obamacare forces all the good ones out of business, we’ll be the ones left out in the cold.  Those running small private practices will be among the first to go. After all, a doctor’s office is just another small business.

  17. Dr. No said at 3:28 pm on March 9th, 2012:

That’s what they said about Medicare too.
The AMA supports the Affordable Health Care Act. Try another scare tactic- like Dr. Flynn. Maybe if spent less time toting up his employee’s taxes and more time treating patients, he could afford a vacation.

And isn’t complaining about how other people can afford vacations class warfare?

  18. Common Sense said at 3:43 pm on March 9th, 2012:

Lol, have you spoken to you’re family physician about this?

You need to. They will tell you what’s really going on and what we can look forward to.

  19. Dr. No said at 4:12 pm on March 9th, 2012:

If my family physician spent his time talking to me about his political opinions, I’d get a new physician.

A lot of things keep me up at night, but my doctor’s bottom line isn’t one of them. The medical profession is full of smart folk with a strong lobby to protect them. They will do just fine no matter who is President.

I think Dr. Flynn needs to turn down the volume of Fox News in his waiting room and start paying attention to his patients.

  20. Common Sense said at 4:37 pm on March 9th, 2012:

So rather than speak to those working directly in the field on the front lines, you prefer to garner your information from Media Matters and MSNBC.  Oh, well of course. Now I clearly see your point.

  21. Dr. No said at 6:00 pm on March 9th, 2012:

Front lines? Sorry I’ll leave you to your delusions. Going to call my poor put upon doctor and see if he can see me tomorrow. Oh I forgot, his front line isn’t open past 3pm or on weekends.

  22. Common Sense said at 6:38 pm on March 9th, 2012:

Good luck with that. I’m sure he or she will be inspired to give you the best possible care.

  23. Liam said at 12:37 pm on March 10th, 2012:

    @ “Dr. No”,
Your lack of regard for other human beings is as astounding as your inability to reason in a mature manner.  I suspect you are very, very young.  My sympathies to your parents.

  24. Carl Potter said at 1:04 pm on March 23rd, 2012:

    Dr. Flynn,

I salute you. Very few people will take a stand as you have. I am with you and that is why I put my name on this comment.

  25. Kathy Jones-Kristof said at 1:05 pm on March 24th, 2012:

Has anyone asked if any of the money for her vacation is being repaid by her?

  26. Jeff Davis said at 7:06 am on March 31st, 2012:

Do people recall that Bush quit playing golf because he felt it wasn’t right to play while he was president and we had troops at war? You decide.

  27. Furst Lady said at 5:50 pm on April 5th, 2012:

I HAD an internist for 12 years and left him when he advised me that he agreed with Obamacare! I told him I could no longer trust his judgement.
Hopefully Dr. Flynn can cure this diseased despot posing as an American. He is nothing short of a Toxic Cancer on the American way of life!
    Hooray for Dr. Flynn!!
Sick and tired of Obama in Boca
