Herman Cain Reassessing His Presidential Bid

Bayshore Tea Party Group Standing By Their Man

GOP presidential hopeful Herman Cain is reassessing his candidacy in the wake of allegations of a 13 year extra-marital affair, according to a story broken by National Review Online. NRO reports that they had a writer on Cain’s five minute conference call with his senior staff wherein he discussed his campaign’s latest setback.

Cain has denied the affair, as he has denied allegations of sexual harassment while he was the CEO of the National Restaurant Association.

Cain attempted shore up his weak foreign policy credentials by issuing his denials in German, “nine, nine, nine.”

Locally, Bayshore Tea Party Group leader Barbara Gonzalez told Politickernj that her group continues to support Cain, “Until they can prove something, we continue to support him….it’s a smear campaign….no one is buying it.”

I have to go with Barbara Gonzalez on this one.

Cain once ran for Senate in Georgia. Why didn’t this stuff crop up then?

This is the media and the Democrat Party today. You are not officially black enough unless you are on the Democrat Plantation.

This is the latest version of the Politics Of Personal Destruction. Whomever the Republican nominee turns out to be, this will be nothing compared to what Obummer and his team will dish out on that person.

    The phone records are interesting.

Barbara is a nice woman. Lots of energy and passion. Good intentions. But hopeless when it comes to picking what horse to back.

  4. Poor Taste Ooops said at 8:01 pm on November 29th, 2011:

A guy has been smeared and all you can do is pile on. Sad.

  5. Had Enough said at 8:23 pm on November 29th, 2011:

As far as I can tell, the only thing he might be guilty of impersonating a Kennedy.

  6. Bar Keep, Make it a double said at 9:52 pm on November 29th, 2011:

To Had Enough – Cain impersonating a Kennedy? Has he driven anyone into the water and let them drown? You know, like kill someone.

  7. Bob English said at 11:34 pm on November 29th, 2011:

Smear campaign??? Blaming the media and Democratic Party??? Really??? When the sex harassment accusations first came out, wasn’t the Cain campaign blaming the Perry campaign??

He is D-O-N-E and has only himself to blame not the media or the Dems.

  8. Freespeaker1976 said at 9:52 am on November 30th, 2011:

    As I Said Bobby Boy,

Why didn’t this stuff come up during Cain’s Senate Run?

Beyond that, all of the sexual harassment complainants have been discredited and gone silent and this latest nut has a similar history of being bankrupt, charged as a stalker and more.

If it walks like a duck, smells like a duck and sounds like a duck; it’s a concerted effort to smear Cain.

That aside, yes I was disappointed at how he handled it early on. Go back to believing in Unicorns because you are good at it.

  9. Rick Ambrosia said at 10:14 am on November 30th, 2011:

There you go again Freeloader1976…brushing someone aside that doesn’t see it your way in a very condescending and nasty manner.

I guess the phone company is in on the smear since she has bills going back the last 4 months that show texts and calls from Cain….some in the middle of the night. I guess he just wanted to chat.

Of course, everyone else is lying, but not Cain.

I would also say that running for the Senate and running for the most powerful position in the world are two very different positions…and maybe that’s why all the chickens are coming home to roost now…they don’t want someone that has harassed and cheated for most of his married life in that position. …although, you may not agree since you obviously have your mind made up.

And like you said…if it walks like a duck, smells like a duck..and cheats like a duck….then Cain is the ultimate duck.

Just curious…are you still on the public dole? Or have you found something you would like to do when you grow up.

    @Freespeaker 1976:

The dirty stuff rarely comes out in local or state campaigns, except in active and involved places like New Jersey. Nearby politicians like Ferraro, Cuomo, the governors of Pennsylvania and Connecticut have all been left alone by the mostly overly friendly news media that just wants to suck up to gain “access.” Until they hit the national scene, when the real investigators take up the real work.

  11. Bob English said at 4:25 pm on November 30th, 2011:

I always wondered why Cain’s campaign contributions went up after the old sexual harassment charges and settlements became public….at least now I know. Even though the latest claim is of a consensual relationship, I have not heard anything this time about increased contributions however since Freespeaker believes Cain, maybe a monetary show of support from Freespeaker is in order.

Its actually a good thing that the excuse and denial machine is getting warmed up because you are going to need it if Gingrich is a serious candidate at the begining of 2012. For all of the Obama bashing that has gone on the only one of the R candidates that is sane enough, honost enough and smart enough to be President is John Huntsman. I actulaly think he would be a strong challanger to O’bama however Huntman is much to sane for the GOP base.

  12. Freespeaker1976 said at 4:59 pm on November 30th, 2011:

    Oh Bobby, Poor Bobby;

I was one of the first to make a donation when this crap started.

Huntsman? Ha, Ha, Ha; ROFLA. You do believe in Unicorns don’t you? Please, go back to playing with the other smurfs. You’re good at that too.

So, “It’s Only About Sex” Only Applies To Democrats Like Clinton & Barney Frank; While It’s Proper For A Conservative Republican To Get Smeared?

    Bobby,

To put it all in the context of the last comment:

  15. Freespeaker1976 said at 7:23 pm on November 30th, 2011:

Dang It, that little smurf Ambrosia has reared his head again; personally utilizing the politics of personal destruction by attacking someone who is legitimately disabled.

Hey, Ambrosia Salad; where did you get your medical degree and when did you have an opportunity to review my records? Don’t go there Ricky, don’t go there.

You’re a walking example of condescension.

Why Mr. Cain must remain in the race: http://www.bayshoreteaparty.org/herman-cain-2012/2011/11/30/mr-cain-you-must-not-surrender.html

  17. Bob English said at 9:03 am on December 1st, 2011:

I am all for Cain remaining in the race and even getting the nomination. If nothing else there is entertainment value in listening to Cain trying to explain why a woman who is not his wife is texting him 60 something times. Also will be fun to see my R friends explain why someone should be President who knows nothing about foreign policy….”will listen to my experts!!”…lol

  18. Freespeaker1976 said at 9:14 am on December 1st, 2011:

    Oh Bobby,

What did Nobama know about Foreign Policy other than to bow to foreign leaders?

You are soooooooooo hypocritical and soooooooo funny at times. The truth is that any of the Republicans running would be far better Presidents than the apologist clown that we have now.

And you claim to be a Republican?

  19. Rick Ambrosia said at 11:02 am on December 1st, 2011:

Well, last time I checked Freeloader, this was still America and I still have the freedom to speak no matter how hard the right tries to take that away. So, basically, I can go anywhere I want to go…but, you never answered my question…are you still on the public dole? Or have you started working yet. I would think not since it must be too easy for you to pick that public check up every couple of weeks. Maybe you can keep playing the disability card for a while longer since you need to bring that up every once in a while so people will feel sorry for you. If you weren’t so nasty, maybe they would….poor thing.

Also, if you haven’t noticed yet, I don’t back off when I’m told to by trolls like you.

I got my medical degree the same place you got your political science degree. You know nothing about politics except what Fox tells you to know. Why don’t you stop hiding and show yourself? You’re awful brave behind the curtain. Man up coward.

  20. Bob English said at 2:56 pm on December 1st, 2011:

No matter how much you dislike O’Bama, the thought of any of the R’s outside of Huntman answering the red phone at 3 AM is freightening.

Bachmann did not even know that the US has not had an embasy in Iran for the last 30 years….yeah Freespeaker she would make a great President. Cain admits that he knows nothing about foreign policy and did not know that China has had nuclear weapons for the past 40 years…there is anther great President for you Freespeaker.
Maybe Palin will jump in…the same Palin that according to McCains campaign manager “knew nothing”
