Who is Joseph Rullo?
A couple of MMM commenters have taken issue with the fact that we have not mentioned Joseph Rudy Rullo as one of the candidates for the 2012 GOP nomination for U.S. Senate.
Rullo, of Ocean County, has registered with the FEC as a candidate.
From the looks of his website, its hard to tell if Rullo is running for Senate or if he is promoting his solar energy business.
He says he loves the GOD of Abraham and JESUS CHRIST. That he is a boy scout and likens himself to Mr. Smith who wants to go to Washington to make the real estate market stable, and end political and corporate corruption so that all Americans can be confident once again as players on a level playing field in our economy.
He says the focus of his campaign will be to give jobs to the unemployed, to turn consumer inconfidence into booming economic growth, to hold corporate and political leaders accountable to the constitution of the United States of America, to redirect financial and legal power to working legal Americans, to reward companies that employ Americans and tax companies that outsource to foreign countries, to freeze funding of countries like Pakistan that support terrorists and give that money back to America, to tax countries like China until they trade fairly and ethically in the United States, to identify every source of energy this country can produce within its borders and put America back to work, to support WTC victims and responders who are not being helped by the government with cancer and other related health problems, and to hand back government back to the people.
Rullo had ambitions to run for Congress in 2010. He owns the website rullo4congress2010.com, the content of which promotes his solar energy company.
Forgive us for not taking Joseph Rullo seriously and including him in the posts about the U. S. Senate race.
Heretofore when covering the Senate race we will mention Rullo with a link back to this post, if we remember to do so.
He’s a George Gilmore yes-man. The Ocean County Republicans are liberals who think that raising taxes every year in a down economy and blowing $64 million on an expansion of the County Jail are great ideas. While I admittedly don’t know a heck of a lot about Mr. Rullo, I do know a lot about those he associates with, and these people are self-serving and repeatedly show disregard for those that they represent.
Joe Kyrillos is the only serious candidate for US Senate ~ hopefully, he will be the next U.S. Senator from the great state of New Jersey.
Joe Kyrillos is just another RINO.
If memory serves me correct; wasn’t Joe also the state GOP chair years back; when he let the party flounder?
Rullo is a “former Democratic Freeholder candidate” .. and he changed parties because of his huge defeat as a Democrat in Ocean County .. not for ideological reasons .. good credentials for running as a Republican!? Has he actually won any election? He talked about running in the GOP Congressional primary in 2010 .. but then didn’t. Why support a “non-starter” like that for U.S. Senate?
Rullo has been a Republican since 1997 according to reports. Since that time Rullo has become one of the most loyal and respected operatives in the state if you ask around to insiders. The last person Rullo answers to is Gilmore. It may be the other way around in fact. Rullo does what is right and is instrumental in victories from his home town, to current town, and delivers double digit victories. He was the main operative in Berkeley township resulting in the fall of Mayor Jason Varano. The man is the hardest worker in the OC Regular GOP and is a member of Ocean County Citizens for Freedom aka Tea Party.
In a short time in the U.S. Senate, Mike Doherty has done more for New Jersey residents than many who have been in Trenton for decades. Taking on the Fair School Funding initiative tells me that he is the first person in elected office to take the issue of changing the way our schools are funded seriously. He has made far more progress on this issue than our Governor, whose “brilliant” idea was enacting a 2% cap with loopholes so big that you can drive a commercial truck through them. We have lost time and time again with left-of-center Republicans who ran for U.S. Senate (Haytaian, Kean Jr., Zimmer, etc.). Kyrillos would just be the latest in a long line of losers. It’s time for someone different. Let’s send Mike Doherty to Washington.
Rufus,
Not knowing much about Doherty, I DID NOT KNOW HE WAS IN THE U.S. SENATE…
But then, how can we send him to Washington, if he is already there ???????
Rullo is a winner just look at the numbers he delivered as an operative in a majority of the local, county, state, & federal races in Ocean County. One thing you cannot deny is he is absolutely one of the hardest working conservative Republicans in NJ. Just ask the insiders.
freespeaker: That was a typo. Of course, I meant STATE Senate.
Going back to Rullo: he may be hard working, but he is no conservative. The Ocean County Regular Republicans who are on the Board of Chosen Freeholders have consistently enriched themselves at our expense by taking these no-show jobs all over the county, and every single year they have voted in unison to raise our taxes. If Rullo were truly a conservative, he would be working to oust these people and replace them with legislators who will cut spending and reduce taxes. As it stands right now, Ocean County is not a place where people want to run a business, and it’s going to remain that way as long as we have liberals like Jack Kelly, Jim Lacey, John Bartlett, Gerry Little, and Joe Vicari on the Board of Chosen Freeholders.
Rufus,
I call them “Senior Moments.” All in jest 🙂
Ed,
When Rullo actually runs for something instead of just talking about it; then we’ll see if he is a winner.
Delivering numbers as an operative is FAR different than winning votes as a candidate. As a candidate, one actually has to speak to the public and earn their approval.
And, as Rufus said, he is lockstep with the Gilmore RINO machine.
If he was a Conservative; he would be fighting the RINOs. Doubt he will run though. The rumor on as been “All Talk, No Action” for some time now.
So Rullo is a skilled operative, and he can speak very well to the public.
Now, in the conservative playbook, is running a solar company worse than defending illegal aliens in court? Or then despising the tea party?
The truth is Rullo is a golden boy over there in Ocean County because when something needs to get done he is there. There hasn’t been an election this guy wasn’t the unsung hero. I read in old blogs Rullo was involved with Romney in 2008 running the marketing for Kyrillos what an interesting coincidence? I remember hearing Republicans kidding around that Gilmore caught Rullo putting up Romney signs by the Ocean County Mall. I think Rullo can win Ocean County huge with or without the endorsement. The truth is this guy is not corrupted and is without conflict that is what makes him almost unstopable when he decides to win.
Re: JerryW45 – Joe Kyrillos is anything but a RINO. It is easy to throw around labels. Senator Kyrillos doesn’t engage in name calling, when it comes time to vote on conservative principles – he gets the job done. May 2011 he voted against funding for Family Planning; March 2011, he voted against voters automatically receiving mail-in ballots – which protects our “franchise”; May 2010 he voted against a millionaires tax; Jan 2010 he voted against medical marijuana use; Jan 2010 he voting against same sex marriage; June 2009 he voted against limitations on handgun purchases.
You sir have engaged in name calling, but do not have the facts to back it up. While being in the minority – Senator Kyrillos through his actual votes on the floor continually promotes and defends conservative principles. He continually receives awards from small business organizations in NJ – realizing they are the life blood of our state. He is a TRUE Republican, not a fair weather one. His voting record proves he is not a RINO!
All I need to know to prove that Joe Kyrillos is a RINO is who he’s backing for President: the most liberal candidate in the entire GOP field, Mitt Romney. Ditto for Joe Rullo, apparently.
Atlease Rullo doesn’t represent illegal aliens to obstruct current US law. If you check out his site Rufus you will see he has not endorsed any candidate for President. I do not blame him for that at this point with the debates I have seen.
Upon reviewing the Rullo for senate website he is undecided in the GOP presidential primary. He may have supported candidates in 2008 but this is a different year. The guy before my post should get his facts straight. I like this Rullo guy short and sweet he gets it.
