Pallone Goes Negative

In the surest sign yet that Frank Pallone is losing to Anna Little, Phoney Palloney has hit the airwaves with a negative TV ad.

Contrary to the custom with political ads, Pallone’s announcement that he approves the message appears at the beginning of the spot.  This makes it appear that Pallone approves the previous ad shown, i.e., Frank Pallone approving a Scott Sipprelle ad, approving BP’s public relations ads, and Phoney Palloney approving a sleep apnea relief ad.

Complete with scaring music, newspaper headlines and black and white photos, Pallone’s ad says that Little told the Star Ledger that social security and medicare are unconstitutional, that she would end regulations on all corporations, kill the department of education, deny insurance coverage to sick people, and end corporate income taxes while imposing a 23% national sales tax.  “Read the papers, Tea Party Approved Anna Little is too extreme for us” is the ad’s tag line.

When Pallone made these charges during the debate at Temple Shalom last Sunday, the crowd laughed at him.  The ad provoked laughter in the Gallagher household this morning.

Both the Monmouth University poll and the National Research poll of the NJ-6 race indicated that Little’s only weakness (and Pallone’s only hope for reelection) is her low name recognition outside of Monmouth County.  Pallone’s ad helps Little.  I hope he keeps running it.

    Any idea what station(s) said ad is running on and/or what the cost to run such an ad on whatever station(s) might be?

    I saw the ad on FoxNews. I don’t know what it costs to run the ad.

    That is it!!!. I am calling franks office. I have seen Mrs. Little’s web site. She never said that “deny insurance coverage to sick people”.

    He didn’t even have the guts to show up last night at the healthcare debate.

    I voted for pallone for years. NEVER AGAIN !!

    Everyone should call him and let him know what they think of the commercial. Thanks frank for making me proud to vote for ANNA LITTLE !!!

    I have been a part of visiting over 50 thousand homes… a big part, and I can tell you that Pallone can say whatever he wants. I have been hearing what thousands of people are saying throughout the 6th district and even OUT of the 6th district and its not good for Pallone. People are very, very angry and do not want him back in Congress. They are hearing Anna speak and cannot help but hear the eloquence and intellegence she puts forth with every answer to every question. I must thank Congressman Pallone for all of his publicity for the Tea Party, by the way! Thanks Frank! You wouldn’t believe how many of the people out there are “tea party”, as it is really just citizens of the country that have had enough. Not quite the “angry mob” that some chose to portray us as. Just “we the people”.

    I am proud to say that I am one of the democrats in the 6th district that is voting for Anna Little. I was at the debate on Sunday in Aberdeen and peeled off my Pallone sticker faster than you can imagine. I also know for a fact that what Ms. Little said about the Health Care and it certainly was not what Pallone is saying. Actually, the ObamaCare bill is more likely to cut people off from being treated. I am going out to help Ms. Little get elected I am so angry.

    I agree with you, Art.

    This does look like a last stand strategy.

    He can put $4 million into misinformation in the final week and he might be able to sway the 2% or 3% that he needs to win.

    The only thing that he cannot change is that he has already peaked. On the other hand, the Tea Party can keep the challenger’s numbers rising in the final days with a continuation of their hard work.
