It’s not too late to make plans for Mother’s Day.
If Mom is a baseball fan, Seastreak is repeating its BOGO 2 for 1 special. This week they are sailing to the Met’s game on Sunday. The boat leaves from Atlantic Highlands Harbor at 10:30 am and arrives at CitiField in time for the first pitch against the Pittsburgh Pirates at 1:10 pm.
For many, taking Mom out to the ball game would lead to an out at home. If your Mom is foul on baseball or the Mets, here’s a tip for you.
The Inlet Café in Highlands reopens today after rebuilding from Superstorm Sandy. The weather is supposed to be beautiful on Sunday. Waterside dining on the Shrewsbury with views of New York City returns to this outstanding restaurant that is completely rebuilt and beautiful.

I haven’t received this week’s Greg’s List yet, but I didn’t want you Yankee fans to miss out on this one.
Our friends at Seastreak are selling 2 Yankee tickets for the price of one on Sunday, May 5. The Bronx Bombers are playing the Oakland Athletics. Andy Pettitte is scheduled to pitch. The game starts at 1:05PM. The ferry leaves from Atlantic Highlands Harbor at 10:30am.
Call 1-800-BOATRIDE/1-800-262-8743 to make your reservations before this deal sells out. Tell them MoreMonmouthMusings sent you.

Vessel that crashed in January will be back in service on Thursday
The Seastreak ferry that crashed into Pier 11 in New York City on January 9 will be back in service bringing Monmouth County commuters to Manhattan tomorrow, according to Seastreak management.
The company informed its passengers via email this morning that that Seastreak Wall Street has been given clearance by the United States Coast Guard to resume operations:
As you may know, the Seastreak Wall Street returned to Highlands, New Jersey a little over two weeks ago to finish repairs and to undergo testing and inspection by the United States Coast Guard. The Wall Street has now successfully completed the extensive inspections by the United States Coast Guard. In addition to Sea trials under the supervision of the US Coast Guard, the company has had the vessel operating and making her normal docks for several days and has confirmed that all systems are operating normally and safely.
On behalf of everyone at Seastreak we would like to acknowledge the support you have shown us over the last several months. We are pleased now to return the Wall Street to service and look forward to continuing to providing safe and reliable service to you our valued customers.
The starboard-side of the boat crashed into the dock at Pier 11 on the morning of January 9. One passenger was seriously injured. 83 passengers and one crew members were treated for minor injuries.
A company spokesperson declined to talk about the cause of the accident, citing a request by the National Transportation Safety Board that they not disclose such information.
Terry Williams, spokesperson for NTSB, told MoreMonmouthMusings that the accident’s cause has yet to be determined. Williams said that NTSB investigations typically take a year or more.

Seastreak Manager Jack Bevins told MMM that the ferry that crashed into Pier 11 in Manhattan at 8:45 this morning was out of Highlands, not Atlantic Highlands as has been reported by multiple media sources.
News12 is reporting that 30-50 people have been injured, one critically.
The Star Ledger is reporting that there were 326 commuters and 5 crew members on the boat.
Seastreak issued a statement acknowledging the accident and pledging to work closely with Federal, State and local authorities to determine its cause. They said their thoughts and prayers are with the injured.
Donovan Mannato of Rumson was on the top deck of the ferry when the crash occurred.
“As we were approaching the pier I was packing up my Ipad and closing the seat tray when I felt and severe impact,” Mannato said, “my head hit on the tray in front of me and I saw a gentleman who was standing fly several feet and land on the ground where he laid for quite sometime. There were two glass doors cracked but still in their frames. It was obvious that people had hit those windows.
“When I got up to get off the boat I saw a man severely injured with people surrounding him at the bottom of the stairs. When I finally got downstairs, there were many people bleeding and with head injuries being tended to by passengers who were not injured.”
Mannato said he has a shiner under his eye and a stiff neck. He has not yet received medical attention. He is concerned for the recovery of those more seriously injured.
Seastreak has cancelled the 5:55 departure from E 35th Street and the 6:10 departure from Pier 11.

Limited Service Out Of Highlands Only. Commuters To Enter Highlands From Linden Ave/Route 36 Only
Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno comes through with additional police support
Seastreak LLC will resume ferry service between Highlands and Manhattan on Monday November 5 on a limited schedule.
Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno, Mayor Frank Nolan, Police Chief Joseph Blewet, members of the Highlands Borough Council and representatives of Seastreak met this afternoon to resolve the community’s security concerns. Nolan told MMM that Seastreak has agreed to provide additional security lighting and that Guadagno promised 6 additional law enforcement officers to manage the flow of traffic while protecting the residents and their property.
Downtown Highlands was under 8-10 feet of water during Superstorm Sandy. Only borough residents and their accompanied guests have been allowed past the police check points at the entrances to the riverside side community since the storm ended.
Seastreak ticket holders must abide by the following restrictions:
- Access to and from the Highlands facility will be limited to Linden Avenue only.
- A checkpoint will be in place which will limit access to ticket holders only, so please have your ticket ready to show at the checkpoint to keep traffic flowing as you arrive into town.
- Seastreak will have ticketing staff at the checkpoint for customers who need to purchase tickets.
- Seastreak encourages carpooling.
- With the limited access to and from the Highlands facility, please allow ample time to arrive on time for your departure.
“I’m happy to see that even in their darkest hour the residents of Highlands, specifically Mayor Nolan, stepped up to help others,” said Guadagno, “this is what makes New Jersey great.”
Nolan’s home was destroyed in the storm. He and his family are temporarily living in the shelter in town.
Seastreak announced the following limited schedule:
Departures from Highlands will be:
6:00am, 7:00am, 8:00am and 8:55am
Returns from East 35th St. and Pier 11 will be:
4:15pm E.35th St./4:40pm Pier 11
5:10pm E. 35th St./5:30pm Pier 11
6:30pm E. 35th St./6:45pm Pier 11
7:30pm E. 35th St./7:45pm Pier 11
The ferry service hopes to have their Atlantic Highlands location operating by mid-week
