Small-Business Advocate Endorses Thompson, Dancer and Clifton in LD 12

The NFIB/NJ PAC, the political arm of the National Federation of Independent Businesses in New Jersey, has endorsed Senator Sam Thompson, Assemblyman Ron Dancer and Assemblyman Rob Clifton for reelection in the 12th legislative district.

“Your election is not only critical to the small-business owners in your district, but also to protecting free enterprise across the state,” wrote State Director Laurie Ehlbeck in letters to the legislators.

“Small-business owners are the backbone of our economy and collectively provide most of the jobs in the New Jersey,” said Thompson. “It is my privilege to fight for them.  I am honored to have the support and partnership of the NFIB/NJPAC.” Read the rest of this entry »

By Art Gallagher

Art Haney, the State Senate candidate in the 12th legislative district aligned with Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli’s gubernatorial campaign, indicates that he is a Middlesex County Freeholder in his campaign literature.

Haney was a Freeholder in the 1990’s.

Campaign workers distributed Haney’s cards, along with Ciattarelli propaganda, to Republican voters’ homes in Matawan on Saturday.

The 12th district includes Allentown, Englishtown, Manalapan, Matawan, Millstone, Roosevelt and Upper Freehold in Monmouth County; Old Bridge in Middlesex County; Jackson and Plumsted in Ocean County and the Burlington County towns of Chesterfield, New Hanover, North Hanover, and Wrightstown.

Lucas Not Running In The 12th

By Art Gallagher

Manalapan Mayor Andrew Lucas told MoreMonmouthMusings that he will not be a candidate for Senate or Assembly in the GOP primary in the new 12th legislative district.

Earlier this week Lucas announced that he would by-pass the Monmouth County screening committee to compete in the primary.

The Ocean and Middlesex GOPs nominated Sam Thompson for Senate and Ronald Dancer and Rob Clifton for Assembly earlier this week.  The Monmouth and Burlington County Committees are expected to do the same tomorrow.

Lucas said that he would do all that he could this fall to make sure Republicans are elected in the 12th district and throughout Monmouth County.

Clifton said, ” I have a great deal of respect for Andrew Lucas.  He is a great Mayor and will be a leader in Monmouth County and New Jersey for years to come.”
