Municipal court sessions in New Jersey will be suspended for two weeks to minimize exposure to the coronavirus, state Supreme Court Chief Justice Stuart Rabner announced Saturday.
Anyone scheduled to appear in court between Monday, March 16, and Friday, March 27, to contest a traffic or parking ticket, or a minor local ordinance violation, should wait to receive a new court date.

WASHINGTON— Two new pools of federal money will flow to New Jersey to help the state cope with the coronavirus.
President Donald Trump’s national emergency will free up $50 billion in federal funds for New Jersey and other states to tap to help cover their costs of responding to the virus. The president called it “a large amount of money for states and territories and localities in our shared fight against this disease.”

WASHINGTON, DC – As the House tonight passed its second comprehensive bipartisan bill to combat the coronavirus (COVID 19), Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) said that “containing the outbreak, finding a cure and a safe and effective vaccine must be our highestpriority—no matter the cost.”

Hackensack-Meridian Health is restricting visits to its patients in all of its hospitals and nursing homes, and rehabilitation facilities according to an announcement by the organization.
HMH’s Monmouth County hospitals are Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune City, and Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel.

Monmouth County Freeholder Director Tom Arnone said that there are now four cases of COVID-19 in the County and that County officials are monitoring the situation and taking action to ensure the public health and safety residents.
Two of the presumptive positive cases are senior citizen females from Hazlet, 66 and 83, who are clients of the Golden Age Adult Medical Day Care Center in Marlboro.

Governor Phil Murphy and Lt. Gov Sheila Oliver announced that a New Jersey man died as a result of the coronavirus.
The individual is a male in his 60s from Bergen County.
“We are sad to report the first death in a case of COVID-19 in New Jersey. Our prayers are with the family during this difficult time. We remain vigilant to doing all we can — across all levels of government — to protect the people of New Jersey.”
