Monmouth County Freeholder Director Tom Arnone
It’s finally starting to feel like fall and I couldn’t be happier! From pumpkin picking to festivals and everything in between, there is always something fun to do during this season in Monmouth County.
I’ve certainly kept busy over the last few weeks at several events throughout the entire County that I would like to briefly share with you.
Despite celebrating the fall season, last week I joined my fellow Freeholders at the beach in Long Branch to host our annual End-of-Summer press conference. As liaison to the Department of Public Information and Tourism, I discussed how our businesses and towns fared through the 2019 season.

Farmingdale Mayor Jim Daly
The Mayor and Council of Farmingdale want to first express our deepest sympathies to the families involved in the tragedy which occurred Friday night. Please keep the families in your prayers, while respecting their privacy in this time of grieving.
Also remember to keep in your prayers the men and women who serve our country, who come home needing our love, support and help. This type of tragedy is unfortunately becoming more common to all of us, they deserve our support for what they do for us.

Taxpayers paid for political mail

Senator Declan O’Scanlon
Senator Declan O’Scanlon (R-Monmouth) today sharply criticized Aberdeen Township’s taxpayer-funded distribution of flagrantly misleading information regarding the municipal record on taxes.
In July, Aberdeen’s governing body sent out a mailing to residents blatantly, and falsely, claiming that there was no increase in municipal taxes. The mailing blamed tax increases on schools, Monmouth County, and assessment methodologies.
“I’ve worked well and in good faith with Aberdeen during all my years in the legislature. Our good relationship makes my having to make this statement all the more difficult. But the Aberdeen administration failed its constituents on so many levels revolving around this demonstrably misleading, blatantly political, taxpayer-funded communication that I simply cannot let it stand,” said O’Scanlon

By Jonathan Hornik, Mayor of Marlboro

Marlboro Mayor Jonathan Hornik
When I was first elected Mayor, I detailed my ‘Plan for Progress…100 Days and Beyond’. As a lifelong resident of Marlboro and business person, I stressed the need for investment in public safety and infrastructure including roads and open space preservation while getting our fiscal house in order. Especially in light of the great recession and the severe storms which we weathered as a community, I am pleased that we have been able to accomplish as much as we have, and my focus for the next four years will be on these same critical areas.

Wayne M. Delhagen, 25, of Wayside Road in Neptune Township, was ordered to be held in custody until his trial for stalking, burglary and cyber stalking for women, according to an announcement by Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
The ruling by Judge Paul X. Escandon comes more than three months after the man was arrested and charged following a series of events that appear to have started after he harassed women through social media, ultimately breaking into the Neptune Township home of two of his female victims.

By Tom Arnone, Monmouth County Freeholder Director
I would like to wish everyone a happy fall season – now that it’s beginning to finally feel a little cooler outside.
I’d like to focus on one topic in particular for this week’s letter and that is the upcoming Pound the Pavement for Purple 5k and 2-mile walk in Neptune and Neptune City this Saturday, October 12th. This annual race is presented by the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Neptune Township Committee.
