TRENTON — Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump brought his campaign to the Jersey Shore on Sunday, according to a report by the New York Times. But it wasn’t a massive rally like the one the billionaire businessman held in Alabama on Friday. It was a meet-and-greet at the Long Branch seaside home of Seryl and Charles… Read the rest of this entry »
“Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake,” Napoleon is supposed to have said. That maxim explains why so many Democrats can barely hide their glee every time Donald Trump lets loose a fresh torrent of idiotic bombast or a new poll reinforces his pre-eminence in the Republican field. Trump is too much for… Read the rest of this entry »
DERRY, N.H. — Donald Trump billed his New Hampshire appearance Wednesday as a “town hall,” evoking a storied New England tradition that allows some of the nation’s most informed voters to engage candidates in thoughtful dialogue on the issues. But as he has done with most every other political tradition, Trump blew up the rules. He… Read the rest of this entry »
WASHINGTON — Businessman Donald Trump held onto his front-runner status in a poll released Tuesday as almost a quarter of Republicans and GOP-leaning independents said they would support him for their party’s presidential nomination. Trump received 24 percent in a CNN/ORC International poll taken taken Aug. 13-16 after the Aug. 6 Republican presidential debate in Cleveland,… Read the rest of this entry »
Donald Trump is Howard Beale with groomed hair, clean clothes and his own Boeing 757.
By Art Gallagher
Donald Trump has the media and political elite on both sides of the aisle in a tissy because he is leading the GOP field for the 2016 presidential nomination after committing two “unforgivable” sins against the politically correct commandments—his disparaging remarks about Mexican illegal immigrants and about Senator John McCain’s heroism.
Trump has already made a contribution to our PC culture as it is now safe to say “illegal immigrant” instead of “undocumented worker,” at least for the time being.
Trump is succeeding in large measure because he has given voice to those who are fed up with the elite PC thought and speech police. He is expressing the frustration of many who are fed up with mealy mouth “leaders” who use a lot of words not to say anything and put the American people to sleep while fleecing them. Many who don’t agree with “The Donald” are enjoying the show and are particularly enjoying watching the elites squirm as they try to discredit him…and Republicans in general..in order to retain their cultural and economic power.
Trump’s popularity is surging because he is shouting that the emperors have no clothes and doing so in the manner of the fictional Howard Beale.

WASHINGTON — Donald Trump is heading to the border, but a patrol agents union won’t meet with him there. The executive board of the National Border Patrol Council Local 2455 was scheduled to meet with the 2016 presidential candidate Thursday afternoon in Laredo, Texas, but announced Thursday morning they would not participate in any events with… Read the rest of this entry »
Donald Trump responded to South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, a fellow candidate for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination, calling him a jack ass by reading the Senator’s cell phone number on national TV.
Graham responded today by getting together with IJReview and recording a video of himself destroying his flip phone by lighting it on fire, putting it in a blender, hitting it with a golf driver, slicing it with a samurai sword and dropping it off a roof.
It was way past time for Graham to get rid of that flip phone anyway. Now his challenge will be to learn how to use the email functions of his new smartphone better than Hillary Clinton uses hers.
TRENTON — Donald Trump, the outspoken billionaire who caused many critics to scoff when he announced last month he was running for president, has quickly become a focal point in the crowded race for the 2016 Republican nomination. His controversial comments have flooded media coverage. His fellow candidates constantly field questions about him. And this week,… Read the rest of this entry »
When Leo Cervantes is confronted by a difficult circumstance, he looks for the opportunity it presents.
When the waters of Superstorm Sandy receded from Highlands, Cervantes and his staff at Chilango’s recovered the non-spoiled inventory from their destroyed Bay Avenue restaurant and invited the entire town to a free dinner that they prepared and served at Henry Hudson Regional High School which was serving as a shelter for hundreds of residents displaced by the storm.
When Donald Trump disparaged Mexicans during his presidential candidacy announcement last week, Leo, who immigrated from Neza, a tough town outside of Mexico City in 1989 and became a naturalized United States citizen in 2008, shook off the insult and created an opportunity.
Sunday, July 5th is Cinco de Donald at Leo’s two Monmouth County Mexican restaurants, Chilango’s in Highlands and the newly opened LaPlaya in Keansburg.
Declaring that no candidates in the current field of Republicans can beat President Obama in 2012, this morning Donald Trump told Fox and Friends that he wouldn’t rule out reentering the race for the GOP nomination for president.
Personally, I think Trump left the race too soon and that his presence in the campaign was positive.
Trump’s unique position in American culture as an accomplished business leader and an entertainment celebrity gives him a voice and a platform from which to criticise the President that no one else can match. Unlike other candidates who could be politically damaged by counter attacks by the Obama campaign and the main stream media, Trump gets stronger and his stature elevated by the counter attacks. He really is biggest threat currently to Obama’s reelection.
By leaving the door open to enter the race late, Trump has taken back the platform he gave up when he said he wasn’t going to run. I hope he keeps using it to weaken the President politically.
