Six Flags Responds
Jennifer Lawton, Public Relations Supervisor of Six Flags Great Adventure, Wild Safari and Hurricane Harbor issued the following statement to MMM under the heading “Family Fun Day:”
We host numerous group events in our parks. Many organizations such as, charities, private companies, religious groups, celebrities, have rented the park, just like they could rent a ballroom at a hotel. The Muslim Day event is a fun-filled family outing that typically coincides with Eid, the end of the Ramadan holiday. The day consists of a variety of activities including prayer services, food vendors offering a Halal menu and of course our signature rides and attractions are open for guests to enjoy.
Thank you for your prompt reply.
There seems to be some conflicting information. We have two first hand reports of visitors being told that they could buy a ticket to enter the park but that they would not be admitted if they did not comply with the Muslim customs and dress code.
Additionally, a reader reporting getting the following message from someone is your organization via facebook:
“Actually, anyone could buy the ticket if they wanted to enjoy the theme park and Islamic Family Fun Day festivities to celebrate Eid, the end of Ramadan. For the entire season, this date was a private event and non-scheduled operating day. During non-operating days, our park is available for rent just like one would rent a ballroom.”
Thank you,
Art Gallagher”
We’ll keep MMM readers posted.
Six Flags Over Islam
By Grace Cangemi
Today is “Great Muslim Adventure Day” at Six Flags in Jackson. As Americans prepare to lower our flags to half staff in preparation for the remembrance of the victims murdered on September 11, 2001, all six flags at Great Adventure are welcoming only Muslims and those willing to “fellowship” with them into the park.
According to the gentleman manning the ICNA (Islamic Circle of North America) stand near the ticket booth, it is the end of Ramadan and “a day of celebration.”
To Patti Ryan-Miller, who, along with her 12 year old daughter and her 9 year old friend, was turned away for Muslim Day, it was “a slap in the teeth.”
“It’s really insensitive and terrible timing,” she said. “To make it worse, my daughter earned these passes doing community service for her religious education.”
Brian from Toms River, who I met with his 2 young daughters on their way out of the park told me that he didn’t have any opinion on Islam but that being turned away for not being Muslim “doesn’t help with September 11th being tomorrow.”
Six Flags just tipped the insensitivity scale. I’m sure that many parks have “fellowship days” for people of different faiths, but to close your facility to the public for a celebration of Islam on the eve of the largest mass murder in our nation’s history – an act committed by radical Muslims – is so unbelievable that I had to see for myself.
If a day out at Six Flags was supposed to be a “fellowship day,” holding it on September 10th didn’t make me feel any fellowship. Just the opposite. Where is the sensitivity to your fellow human beings, those of us, living so close to the site of so many of these deaths, who experienced such devastating loss at the hands of your brethren? Where is the condemnation for radicals who murder your fellow Americans? Where is the spirit of inclusion that would have you show non-Muslims that you really are a “religion of peace?”
As September 11th approaches, I have been increasingly angered that the lessons of that day are being passed over as more and more politicians and pundits have decided to use the occasion and the controversy surrounding it to tell Americans that we are “insensitive” and “discriminatory” toward Muslims and not to mourn the loss of the three thousand souls who perished on that beautiful Tuesday.
I’m not sensitive to Muslims who won’t let little kids who win awards for community service ride a roller coaster with them. I’m not sensitive to people who don’t recognize how important a day September 11th will always be to the Americans who lived through it. And I’m sure as hell not sensitive to anyone who won’t loudly and vocally condemn any piece of human detritus who would slaughter my friends and family in the name of their religious jihad.
When Danny Gallagher was in high school, our church youth group had a day at Great Adventure. The park was open to the public, although people from churches throughout the state had come to join together and spend the day. I’m sure there were some Muslims there. We wouldn’t have known because it didn’t matter as long as everyone was having fun at the park. Perhaps that’s why “Great Muslim Day” outraged me. This smart, bright young man would have been barred from Six Flags today. And he probably would have been good natured about it. That’s how Danny was. I’ll never know because he never came home after that Tuesday morning nine years ago.
If my sensitivity is all used up today, maybe it’s because it’s being spent on Danny’s family and all of those who lost loved ones at the hands of Islamic Jihadists. Maybe some of the folks leaving “Muslim Day” could try thinking about that this afternoon.
Frank Pallone on Tax Reform, a NO brainer!
By Susan Christopher
After seriously reviewing Frank Pallone’s voting record on important issues, it is alarming to me as it should be to all the voters in Congressional District 6 just how out of control Pallone is when it comes to tax reform! He has consistently voted “NO” on tax issues that would help create prosperity for Americans. Let me provide several examples. In December of 2005, Pallone voted NO to retain reduced taxes on capital gains and dividends, in May of 2004, he voted NO on making permanent an increase in the child tax credit, in April, 2004, he voted NO on permanently eliminating the marriage penalty, April, 2002, he voted NO on making the Bush tax cuts permanent, April, 2001, he voted NO on eliminating the Estate Tax (death tax), and the list goes on!
Frank’s voting record indicates that he is a “Big Spender” on tax votes!
The voters of CD6 must put an end to Pallone’s out of control spending!
Come November we must show Frank we are fed up with this robbery! We want the candidate who promises to reduce taxes, her name is Anna Little. Anna promotes an immediate reduction in all taxes. She believes income taxes punish success and discourages investment.
On November 2nd, we can make our voices heard and show Pallone that we vote NO to everything he stands for by electing Anna Little for Congress!

By Grace Cangemi and Art Gallagher
Today is Muslim Day at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson. If you’re planning to visit the park, dress like a Muslim or you won’t get in.
MMM received a tip about a mother and daughter being turned away from the park because it was Muslim Day. Grace headed right over.
Upon arrival at the park, Grace was informed by the parking attendant that she was welcome to pay $15 to park her car, but that she would not be admitted to the park because it was Muslim Day.
Grace parked her car and approach the ticket booth where the attendant graciously suggested she not buy a ticket, “because I’ll have to refund your money, they will not allow you into the park.”
A gentleman from the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) who didn’t give his name told Grace that the organization had arranged to use the park to celebrate the end of Ramadan and that she would be “welcome to fellowship with us if you respect our customs and dress appropriately.” He said that her sleeves were too short and added, “you wouldn’t want a lady of the evening coming into your church.” The gentleman from ICNA referred Grace to the website WhyMuslim.org.
Brian from Toms River, a Great Adventure season pass holder who declined to give his last name told Grace that a park representative told him he was welcome to purchase a ticket for the day but that he might not get admitted because he was wearing shorts. Brian was with his two young daughters.
Great Adventure’s website indicates that the park is closed today.
Park President John Fitzgerald has not returned a phone call for comment. Six Flags Corporate has not responded to an email for comment.
The good news is that Grace was refunded her $15 parking fee.

The wave is coming and Anna Little is riding it.
The enthusiasm that the “Little people” have had for her campaign in spreading. The Republican and Conservative elite have taken notice and are getting on board. Those who have never been politically involved are waking up and digging deep. The money that was trickling in is beginning to flow. The Little campaign has raised well over $200K, has over $150K on hand and expects another $100K in the coming week. That’s still paultry compared to Frank Pallone’s $4million, but more and more contributors are getting caught in the wave. The damn of cynicism that has been holding back jaded contributors in breaking.
Sharron Angle, Harry Reid’s opponent in the Nevada U.S. Senate Race is coming to Red Bank next Wednesday morning for a $100 per person Anna Little fund raiser hosted by Mollie Giamanco. Angle and Little will also have a luncheon fundraiser the same day at Copper Canyon in Atlantic Highlands from 1-2:30PM. RSVP for ether event to 732-535-0773 or [email protected] .
In addition to the local enthusiasm for Anna Little, her national profile is rising. She is in Washington this morning speaking to Faith and Freedom Conference and Strategy Briefing. Here’s a list of the confirmed speakers at the conference:

Dispatches from San Juan
Advice to the Tea Party
We have talked about what the Tea party is and what it means for NJ Republicans.
Since many Tea Party people are new to politics and as I admire the core principle that the Tea Party stands for, smaller government I wanted to leave the Tea Party with some words of wisdom gained through over 25 years of experience in politics, running campaigns, raising money, holding elected office and studying politics and the lives of famous politicians. For purposes of this piece when I refer to “Republicans” I am referring to those Republicans who have not affiliated with a Tea Party Group.
1. Know this going in. Many Politicians will cynically use your group. Not all of them will be Republicans. Some will be members of your own group or people you think are your friends.
2. If you want a friend in politics get a dog.
3. Its OK to be used if you realize it. That’s because if you realize it you are probably getting something out of it in return. This means you are really using the person who is using you.
4. MANY Republicans who do not belong to your group sympathize with its goals. Do not automatically treat all Republican Party members and elected officials as the enemy.
5. There are a lot of empty county Committee seats. Volunteer to fill them. Most Municipal Chairman will be thrilled to get enthusiastic people.
6. Pick your Battles. Don’t try to take out every elected Republican in the next primary. Choose the worst ones and don’t spread yourself too thin. Patience is a virtue, especially in politics.
7. Realize there is no perfect candidate. I believe Ronald Reagan had an 80% rule. If you agreed with him 80% of the time that was good enough. That seems to me to be a pretty fair bench mark.
8. Anger and passion are not the same thing. Anger will alienate people and kill you. Passion will inspire people and enrich your life. Try to be passionate about your beliefs more than you are angry about your opponent’s.
9. Power does strange things to people. People you thought you could trust will betray you. It is inevitable. When it happens put it behind you and get back to work. Keep this in mind though; it’s OK to forgive but never forget.
10. Don’t let success go to your head. It will be your downfall if you do.
Posted: September 10th, 2010 | Author: Art Gallagher | Filed under: Uncategorized | Comments Off on Dispatches from San JuanRush Holt and the Ku Klux Klan
On his website, West Virginia native Rush Holt eulogized his home state’s most infamous member of the Ku Klux Klan. Holt writes about the passing of former Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV),”I’ve know Senator Byrd my whole life. He has a well-deserved reputation as an orator, a historian, and a defender of the rules, traditions, procedures, and functions of the Senate. Yet, I always will remember him for his extraordinary devotion and service to the people of West Virginia….”
Nowhere in his glowing eulogy did Holt mention Robert Byrd’s involvement in the Ku Klux Klan. Byrd recruited and organized a new Klan chapter of 150 men and rose to the titles of Kleagle (recruiter) and when it came time to choosing a local Exalted Cyclops at Byrd’s KKK chapter, Byrd won unanimously. Holt was so adamant about saluting his home state’s most well-known klansman that he dragged his 96 year-old mother out of her bed to show her final respects as Byrd laid in repose.
Not only did Rush Holt know Byrd his entire life, but Holt’s parents were very close to Robert Byrd. His mother, Helen Holt, was the first woman Secretary of State of West Virginia and certified Byrd’s elections. Rush’s father was a prominent politician from West Virginia during the 1930’s to 1950’s. Holt’s knowledge of Byrd’s activities in the KKK is apparently of no consequence to Holt.
Nevertheless, Robert Byrd was actually more honorable that Rush Holt. Whereas Robert Byrd truly did atone for his activities in the Ku Klux Klan and reversed his stance on race issues as he got older, Rush Holt continues his foaming-at-the-mouth hate mongering to this day.
In 2007, Holt declined to vote for House Resolution 847 which called for rejecting bigotry and persecution directed against Christians, both in the United States and worldwide. In 2010, Holt declined to sign a letter to President Obama urging him to appoint a U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom. Such an Ambassador would have encouraged religious minorities in countries such as Iran, Egypt, Turkey, and China to practice their faith.
Based on his associations and voting record, it seems that the only instance in which Holt wants to see a cross is when one is burning on the lawn in front of a minority house of worship such as an African American church or Jewish synagogue.
