Results in the Neptune Nudnik – er, the APP – this morning bear this out. In ALL municipal races reported in its circulation area, where a Republican ran, they won, except in Red Bank, Neptune and Belmar. This included blue towns like Union Beach, Keansburg, etc.
Hold the celebration. Most voters expected Republicans to win control of the House of Representatives on Election Day, but nearly as many expect to be disappointed with how they perform by the time the 2012 elections roll around.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds, in fact, that 59% of Likely U.S. Voters think it is at least somewhat likely that most voters will be disappointed with Republicans in Congress before the next national elections. That includes 38% who say it is Very Likely.
Thirty-three percent (33%) say it’s unlikely most voters will feel that way about the new majority party in the House, but only five percent (5%) say it’s Not At All Likely. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Voters overwhelmingly believe the new Republican-controlled House is likely to vote to repeal the unpopular national health care law. They’re less confident that taxes and government spending will go down with the GOP in charge of the House.
Just before Election Day, most voters weren’t convinced that there will be a big change in their lives if Republicans won control of Congress.
Tracy and I are so grateful for your tireless support and friendship. It has been the thrill of a lifetime to have had the opportunity to address your concerns and represent your aspirations.
While this campaign will be quickly forgotten, the cause which united us will not, and can not, fade. More important than winning one election is our shared and urgent priority to repair the nation.
Please stay committed to the cause.

The GOP’s only remaining hope to pick up a Congressional seat in NJ remains with Jon Runyan in CD-3. With a 5,000 lead and three districts yet to report, MMM calls the race for Runyan.
Fake Tea Party candidate Peter DeStefano picked up 3100 votes.

With a 10,500 lead in Middlesex County and 7,300 in the City of Plainfield, there is no way for Anna Little to make up the roughy 16,000 vote lead Pallone has with only 26% of the districts yet to report in Middlesex.
