The Middletown Department of Health and Social Services reports a total of 18ย COVID-19 cases, including a resident of Luftman Towers, an apartment building for seniors in Lincroft. Direct contact persons, organizations and workplaces will be notified by health officials as they receive information from the patients. To date, the Health Department has received 53 negative cases from laboratory reports.

The much anticipated COVID-19 testing site at the PNC Arts Center is opening today, Monday, March 23 at 8 a.m.ย The Arts Center is located a mile 116 on the Garden State Parkway.
The center will be open seven days per week until daily supplies last, Governor Phil Murphy announced. Gates will open at 8 a.m. Individuals will not be permitted to line up along the Garden State Parkway. The PNC commuter parking lot will be closed. Read the rest of this entry »
The coronavirus outbreak in New Jersey continues to rapidly escalate with 1,914 total cases and 20 deaths in the state as health officials announced Sunday another 590 positive tests on the first full day of the latest restrictions on travel and retail businesses.
โThis is not a surprise,” Gov. Phil Murphy said. “We knew, especially as we opened up testing, we could have bigger numbers. Some of this is community spread, no question.โ

Newark- To mitigate the impact of COVID-19 and protect the capacity of New Jerseyโs health care system for the stateโs most vulnerable, Governor Phil Murphy today signed Executive Order No. 107, directing all residents to stay at home until further notice. The order provides for certain exceptions, such as obtaining essential goods or services, seeking medical attention, visiting family or close friends, reporting to work, or engaging in outdoor activities.

The municipal elections in Allenhurst, Deal, Keansburg and Loch Arbour will be conducted via Vote-By-Mail ballots only, Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon announced on Friday afternoon.
Governor Phil Murphy signed an executive order on Thursday mandating that May 12 elections be held via mail to mitigate the potential spread of COVID-19.
Clerk Hanlon is notifying voters in these four municipalities that due to this unprecedented situation, every registered voter will automatically receive a mail-in ballot, by law, and will not need to fill out an application. Senator Declan O’Scanlon is introducing legislation that will give prosecutors the discretion to charge individuals suspected of domestic violence the a higher degree crime than the underlying offense if committed during a State of Emergency.
โUnfortunately, with everyone being asked to stay home, we can anticipate an increase in domestic violence situations. There is a special place in hell for anyone who would cause harm to another while being asked to hunker down for the greater good,โ said OโScanlon. โThis bill provides that an act of domestic violence or child endangerment committed by a person during a state of emergency may, at the discretion of the prosecutor, be charged one degree higher than the underlying offense.โ
