Freeholder Serea DiMaso embraces Freeholder Director John Curley seconds after she is sworn into office. Curley and DiMaso, who challenged each other for the 2008 Freeholder nomination, will be running mates this fall.
Congratulations!! The best candidate definitely won by a terrific margin!!

Congratulations, we now have a representative that will work for all of Monmouth County. One never knows how effective those in the background can be when it comes to the common good.
By the way Art, NICE timely “boots on the ground” coverage.
And for the Kingmaker, he and I talked just as the voting was getting underway. He was very worried about his “whip count for Walsh.” He knew it was over before it even started.
who backs whom, instead of who really may be most qualified?.. way to go, Republicans- be jealous of, and go clobber some volunteers’ success, and just go “get” them: we can always count on some of these Rinos to miss the point, and just so THEY feel better about themselves : we’re real good at destroying our own workers, for sure.. guess ongoing and wholehearted “drone” support for Romney’s next, in this place..will never get or condone that mentality, for sure..good luck to Serena, am sure it will all be fine, but in reading some of these posts, it’s obvious the petty squabbles and ego trips do/will still go on..
the republicans in monmouth county rebranding themselves as uniters and not beat up on our own. Here are 2 people who at one point were opponents and now they will be running mates, a good start in reshaping the imagine of the monmouth county republican party
Excuse me, but there were 48o-something people present. That’s 480+ individuals, each with his/her own opinion–who were free to express it with a vote for any of the 4 candidates. Obviously, the majority today were persuaded Serena was best at this point in time.
How does one decide? You listen/consider/discuss/consult/read/weigh—-and make your choice. Viva America where we have the freedom to do so. Kudo’s to Bob Walsh, who saw the handwriting on the wall and most graciously conceded to keep everything moving along smoothly/which maintained the spirit of good will in the room.
“Gracious”—good word. Far far superior to petty/small-minded/poor loser… Thank you Bob, for a great effort and being most gracious in defeat. Congratulations to Serena—we wish you well!
united we stand, divided, we get runaway Dem spending and outside DEM lawfirms working all over the place, and dumping money here- who needs that??..some do not harken back to the days when a past Chair, Dowd, had the main legal job in Middletown forever, his large billings were partially what eventually helped to take him down.. I see merit in using both types of candidate selections: the one equalizes the towns with one vote each, avoiding stampedes and big-boy clout, but gives the electeds, and past electeds, more say, which, well, there you are… today, many could not vote, are not c.c., and were reduced to either writing a letter for someone, and/or dressing up and pretending to like, and have been FOR the winner, all along..and, Oxley could be a pig and put in for county work larger than most towns’, but doesn’t..am fine if a Rep. town wants to hire him..and yes, Walsh is a gracious loser, so let’s have the few remaining grumps learn how to be gracious winner, and go forward to an all R Nov. victory!
“One never knows what good one can do while in the background”, so says Merlino from Howell. He`d know for sure because he`s never been in the front or the back. He is usually under the bus! For those who don`t know, this is 3x loser for office Merloser from Howell. Lost for Mayor and for Senate two times. He is their local Democratic Chair and soon to be candidate for Mayor. He works for the Jersey City school system and apparently lives on this and other sites all day. Nice that Art gives him a place to hang out. Today he praises Senera. Soon he`ll be attaking her.

Congrats Serena!
