Sea Bright Mayor Dina Long announced on facebook and twitter this morning that she will not seek a third term leading the borough.

Long has served on the governing body for 16 years, the last 7 as mayor.  She led the rescue and recovery from Superstorm Sandy, which is ongoing.

First elected as a Democrat, Long left the party and became an Independent after Vin Gopal, then Chairman of the Monmouth Democrats, retaliated against her for endorsing Governor Chris Christie’s reelection in 2013.

She was reelected without partisan opposition in 2015.

GOP: field a good candidate. This is an opportunity year.

Absolutely right. The reckless, wasteful idea to build the Borough Hall on the beach and take away a huge revenue generator shows that Sea Bright is ripe for some sane, level-headed representation. This is the year Republicans!

Mayor Barbara McMorrow will not be seeking re-election in Freehold Township this November.
The GOP seems to be losing great people in Monmouth County.
Barbara will be missed and hard to replace as one of our most dedicated, hard working experienced elected officials in our beloved county. She always served the residents with grace and integrity as Freeholder and Committwoman.
    Thanks Barbara!
