Fulton being vetted for top MVC job

Doherty said to have failed the background check for the job

Brenda “Sue” Fulton is being vetted to be Governor Phil Murphy’s MVC Chief

Brenda “Sue” Fulton of Asbury Park is Governor Murphy’s current choice to become Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission, according to a source who told MMM that the West Point graduate has consented to four way background check.

Fulton’s 2016 running mate for Monmouth County Freeholder, Belmar Mayor Matt Doherty, said he “respectfully declined” the Governor’s offer to lead MVC at a Borough Council meeting on Monday night.

Multiple sources told MMM that Doherty “respectfully declined” the position after the offer was withdrawn due to concerns raised in his own background check.

Fulton declined to comment about her pending appointment when reached on the phone.  She is currently employed as the Executive Director of Women in the Service Change Initiative (WiSCI), a start-up non-profit advocating for women in the U.S. military, according to her LinkedIn profile.

  1. Well, good for her. said at 10:43 am on February 9th, 2018:

She did her time, ran and lost, gets a position. Dems are better at paying back their foot soldiers and supporters than Republicans, some of whom quickly forget who got them there, and/ or, my personal favorite, give a job to a Dem, thinking they will help our cause: nope! That is just plain deluded, dumb thinking. For example, giving a plum to somebody from, say, Neptune Twp, does not get ya one more R vote from that impossible town. Take care of your hard workers, or they will leave. Then who will do all the grunt work??
