Sheriff Golden Shares Counter-terrorism and Homeland Security Practices With Jewish Federation

Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden met with members of the Jewish Federation in the Heart of New Jersey on Monday at the Sheriff’s Office Public Safety Center in Freehold to discuss emergency action plans for faith based organizations as part of his ongoing commitment to training faith based organizations in keeping their members and children safe.

During the fortuitously scheduled event which followed terrorist attacks in nearby Ocean and Union Counties and New York City last weekend, Golden spoke about the Sheriff’s Office’s continuing proactive approach to addressing homeland security and counter terrorism issues, and, offered advice and assistance to the attendees.

“The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office is proud to have hosted this event for our partners of the Jewish community,” said Golden. “In the wake of the most recent terror incidents, it’s vital that our Jewish organizations, synagogues and schools be aware of and discuss contemporary situations involving harmful activities by individuals or groups that may target segments of our population.”

During his presentation, Golden stressed the four phases of emergency action planning his office deploys on an ongoing basis; prevention, preparedness, response and recovery. Golden discussed critical events that could occur, ranging from gas leaks to violent threats.

Guy McCormick, Director of Homeland Security for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Paul Goldenberg and Doron Horowitz of Secure Community Network, John Gooley, Consulting Services Manager from US Security Care Inc. and Steven Pasichow, Deputy Inspetor General/Dir. of Investigations Office – Port Authority of NY and NJ joined Golden in his presentation to the group.
