Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno has been cleared by U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman in the allegations against her made by Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer, according to a report at NJ.com.

After months of praising the Christie Administration after Superstorm Sandy, Zimmer used the media frenzy when the Bridgegate story broke in January of 2014 to become famous by alleging that Guadagno shook her down seven months earlier.

The mayor said that Guadagno told her, on behalf of Governor Christie, that Hoboken’s Sandy recovery aide was tied to Zimmer pushing through a development application for the Rockefeller Group.  The shakedown allegedly happened at a supermarket ribbon cutting ceremony in May of 2013.  Zimmer suddenly remembered the shakedown in January of 2014 when the George Washington Bridge lane closure scandal was dominating the news.

Today, Fishman sent a letter to Guadagno’s attorney, William Maderer, stating that the federal investigation into the matter has been closed.

“Based on the evidence developed during the investigation and our review of the applicable law, we have concluded that no further action is warranted in this matter. Accordingly, the investigation of those allegations has been closed, ” Fishman’s letter said, according to NJ.com.

    at this outcome at all.

Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer should be charged for the cost of the investigation into her bogus claim. Why should NJ taxpayers pick up the tab for a frivolous ploy, blatantly obvious as such from the moment Zimmer made the allegations.

Better yet, maybe Hoboken taxpayers alone should foot the bill. Perhaps then they’ll think twice before electing someone like Zimmer to represent their city again.

  2. Doesn't Kimberly have Other Pending Issues? said at 11:05 am on May 2nd, 2015:

Isn’t there something about election fraud hanging over her head? Isn’t there something about the Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Office, whereby a former undersheriff was indicted with numerous charges, and then had them all thrown out? Isn’t there something with pension fraud at Monmouth County while Kimberly was sheriff??

And she is touted as possible governor material?? fahgetaboutit!!!
