Christianity, The Crusades, and the President

This past week, during the National Prayer Breakfast, Barack Obama made absolutely offensive remarks that seemed to justify the barbaric acts of the Islamic Jihadist terror group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), who have beheaded and burned alive prisoners from all over the world, by comparing ISIS’s form of Jihad to Christian behavior during the Crusades.  The remarks to which I am referring:

“lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ.”

While I’ve read extensively about our nation’s history, slavery, and the Reconstruction, I can’t recall where anyone justified slavery in the name of Christ.  In fact, American slavery is rooted in African slavery, which had been practiced in Africa for centuries before Europeans were even aware of it.  And European involvement in slavery began when Islamic Jihadists invaded Europe and enslaved Christians just prior to the Crusades.  Further, slavery is still practiced today in Africa and much of slavery’s history in eastern Africa is centered around Islam, but this president speaks solely to divide America, facts be damned.

If anything, it was Christians in America who worked so hard to end the practice of slavery in America and who are working today through missions in Africa to rescue the enslaved.  Boco Harem is not a fanatical Christian organization; to the contrary, they are a jihadist Muslim organization, and we know that Obama is aware of them because when the fanatical Muslims kidnapped an entire female student body from an African school, Michelle Obama famously used “hashtag diplomacy” to conduct a public relations campaign that served absolutely no other purpose than public relations.

But rather than condemn radical Islam, Obama stood before an international audience of over 3,500 religious leaders at the National Prayer Breakfast, gathered to build unity among those practicing Christianity, Judaism and Islam, and justified ISIS actions by comparing them to Christians during the Crusades.
Of course, what Obama fails to admit is that the Crusades were a direct response to centuries of Islamic Jihad waged against European Christians through the invasion and conquering of Southern Europe.

Why did Obama make these remarks and why are they so ignorant in fact?  I believe that with the 2014 midterm elections behind him, Obama no longer has a reason to mind his tongue or hold back his true beliefs.  For six years, Obama has been the teleprompter president; largely reading any and every speech he’s ever made, prepared for specific audiences and prepared to keep him on script, lest the beliefs in his warped mind leak out.

Now that Obama is a true lame duck, he’s free to let loose the perversions of his thoughts; the perversions that come from a childhood and adolescence raised apart from traditional American values.  Obama grew up overseas and came of age in Hawaii, under the tutelage of radical communists.  Throughout his life, Obama’s friends and mentors have been the likes of despicable domestic terrorist Bill Ayers and his terrorist wife Bernadine Dohrn.  His belief system is warped, and his worldview was truly reflected in this week’s anti-Christian screed.

What’s ironic is that Obama didn’t seem to realize that he was, essentially, saying that Islamic Jihadists are still living in an uncivilized, 800 year-old world.

If Obama wants to know what Christianity is about during the last 100 years, he should take a trip to Europe and visit any one of the two dozen or so WWII American Cemeteries.  He can walk among the tens of thousands of crosses that run for miles in each cemetery.  Those crosses mark the bodies of the primarily Christian Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice so Obama could exercise his right to freely defend the beheadings and burnings done by jihadists who won’t stop until every one of us breathes our last breath.  I know; my Grandmother’s brother, Private Nicholas D’Alessandro is listed among the tomb of the missing in an American Cemetery in Nettuno, Italy.

And Christians were the brave souls who stopped the godless communists in the Cold War. But Christians fighting to preserve freedom is nothing new.  Through the Crusades, Christians were the people who stopped the Islamic jihad takeover of Europe 800 years ago.

Further, Christians were the folks who stopped the godless Nazis and imperial Japanese in World War II.

Our nation’s Founding Fathers rooted this nation’s form of government in the exercise of free will, which Christians believe is a gift from God.

So Obama can mock Christianity all he wishes, but the rest of us should know that Christians have, time and again, saved the world for freedom and have been primarily been a force for good.

Living through it, it is hard to grasp just how disastrous this guy is. Think of all the idiotic things he has said. The crusades? Get real. He obviously knows nothing about world history. Slavery? American slavery was a mere blip on the historical radar compared to what has gone on, and still goes on in Muslim and African nations. In fact, this boob called out two things that were directly caused and facilitated by Muslims. Either Obama is incredibly stupid, or he is a more accomplished liar than Brian Williams.

Labeling the attacks on Jews in Paris as random crime is preposterously dangerous to civilization. Just in our life times, more than fifty million people have been killed in combating that big lie. The arrogance in dismissing that blood, sweat and tears with a wave of the hand will come back to bite very single American in the backside.
