The Auditor: Christie to help Lonegan retire campaign debt, Buono loses Metuchen and more (via NJ.com)
Gov. Chris Christie isn’t done helping Steve Lonegan, the former Republican U.S. Senate candidate. The Auditor is told that Christie — who endorsed Lonegan, his former rival, and held one fundraiser for him during his unsuccessful campaign against…
The fix is in. Christie agreed to retire Lonegan’s debt in exchange for not running in CD3. Christie owes Gilmore and the Ocean County Boss wants nothing to do with Lonegan. Gilmore is hoping Lonegan settles in Monmouth and stirs up the pot there instead.
Monmouth County huh?
Lonegan against Frankie Boy? I like that idea.
Politics asside, I dont think anyone would be very receptive to the idea of their Congressman living an hours drive from the district and probably needing a road map to find their way around.
How is it not a requirement that a congressman/woman live in the district?
Is that the only office where such a thing can occur? I can’t think of any other.
Is that the case for all of congress or is it just for NJ, etc.? I wonder if there are any active congress not from the district they represent.
who really don’t live in their districts: with incumbency, things sometimes get overlooked.. think it’d be even better for Freeholder Curley to take on Frankie: now, there will be a very interesting dynamic!
U.S Constitution requires only that you be a resident of the State when running for Congress.
